So I asked Ave if I could release these and he said sure. I don't want confusion to come from this, so if you create a help thread please state what XML version you're using. The current XML version is 1.4.1. If you want to know the difference in these new updated XMLs go here: http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=950.0It's not perfect but hopefully you'll understand. To install toss the Win7 and Vista folder in \Vista Style Builder\Data\. Overwrite. To install Base, extract the Base folder to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\ Info on Base: Base is a modified Aero.msstyles that maps all the hardcoded values in shellstyle.dll into the msstyles. Base will be updated based on community input. Like if you know of a trick and have to add code, tell me and it may be included in future updates. Also don't ask when WSB 1.6 will be avail, I don't know. Updates:Changes since 1.0.0:• Added Static Class Changes since 1.0.1:• Barrier Page Background now mapped to: Shellstyle > Shellstyle:BarrierPage > bp_pane > Element • Barrier Page Divider Line now mapped to: Shellstyle > Shellstyle:BarrierPage > bp_divider_line > Element Changes since 1.0.2:• Added text colors to CPL/CommandBar button states. (Thanks Dave Senior) Changes since 1.0.3:• Fixed typo causing the Reading Pane label to be broken

This is pretty cool, thanks for releasing them, with the base style, how exactly does that work, say for example I have a modified shellstyle.dll that has the navigation pane text colour added to it, how would I go about adding that in the msstyles properties now?

You would edit the code in the shellstyle to point to the property in the msstyles. For example a text color you would replace foreground="color" with foreground="gtc(Shellstyle:Custom, 1, 1, 3803)" then you would add TextColor:Color to Shellstyle > Shellstyle:Custom > <1> > <1>

Is there a way to import the properties from the Base style into an existing style?

I forgot to mention you'll have to export the CMAP from Base and import it into your theme, replacing the default CMAP. Or else the stylehack won't work.

Thanks I figured that out lol, any shellstyles you have modded with the extra properties would be good to , I also noticed a post here http://www.joejoe.org/forum/topic/18726-directui-xml-notes-that-you-can-use/ from you and wondered if you still had the list of all the text colour properties, I wanted to change some in the shellstyle to use other properties but I have no idea what foreground properties relate to what, there was a link on that post but it is dead now. Thanks in advance

Hi! Sorry for the noob question, but what is the CMAP please...? The classmap. You'll see it if you open an msstyles file in a resource hacker.

Hello, I downloaded this and followed the instructions to put the folders where they are supposed to be. This was on a fresh installation of WSB, because I had not installed it yet since I did a fresh install of Win 7 the last time. However, when I launch WSB, on the bottom pane where the help is supposed to be, I get all this stuff with a pink background, which I remember wasn't there last time I used WSB about a year ago:
Writing /sites/vistastylebuilder.com/public_html/docs/data/cache/c/c92cb064456e5ca0c77ac82befb9ef8e.i failedUnable to save cache file. Hint: disk full; file permissions; safe_mode setting.Writing /sites/vistastylebuilder.com/public_html/docs/data/cache/c/c92cb064456e5ca0c77ac82befb9ef8e.i failedUnable to save cache file. Could this be because of SP1? Or is it because of this replaced xmls?

WSB's documentation is stored on the internet, not locally. The sever in which it's hosted's disk is full.

Oh, OK. So it's nothing I should worry about then.

Every time I want to download this file I get a message that I have to validate my account. Each time it is approved, but if I then try to download the file again, I have to validate my account again. How many times do I have to validate it?? With other files I have no problems. Greetz Marleen

I updated the archive to include the following:
• Base 1.0.3 MSStyles File • Aero to Base 1.0.3 upgrade stylehack (Base.stylehack) New! • Base 1.0.2 to 1.0.3 upgrade stylehack • Pre-extracted CMAP (CMAP.raw in the Base folder) • WSB Data XMLs 1.6.5 for Windows 7 (Current) New!
So now you don't have to download multiple archives.

Hi! Thanks for this nice base for themeing!! But does anybody know what causes this behavior: In the original Aero Theme these buttons don't have this distorted transparent areas around them.
