Unfortunately that also changes the nav bar on the top.
To do the nav bar separately:
2) For the NavBar: Change the images at:
Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Normal > Active > Background Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Normal > Inactive > Background Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Max > Active > Background Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Max > Inactive > Background
And delete BGTYPE:ENUM = NONE from:
Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Normal > Active > Background Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Normal > Inactive > Background Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Max > Active > Background Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Max > Inactive > Background

Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Places List > Controls > Logoff Split Button Left
On left:

Help / Windows 10 / Re: saved styles don't work

The answer i gave in that post you reference was the correct one and worked for the person who requested it. I don't know why it's not working for you. You could try Explorer & Shell > Shell > PreviewPaneControl > CommonItemDialog:Edit > Background and add the properties you want and see if that might work for you. I don't know why you are having problems saving your msstyle or why you are having problems with UltraUXThemePatcher. I have never used the "Import 10 fix". Sorry I can't be of more help to you. Try searching Classes,Parts and States in the WSB search box for "common" and try to find what you changed in the other style editor: Maybe the two style editors are conflicting. I don't know.

Try looking at the image and margins at:
Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Aero Peek Window > Normal > Right
margin parameters are (Left,Top,Right,Bottom)
There's also Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Details > Reflections > Aero Peek Background

If you are using the latest WSB attached here: https://www.vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=2535.msg14456#msg14456and if you are working on a copy of your msstyle and not the one you are actually using and your theme files are patched then If WSB says your msstyle compiles then it should be good to go if it's in a theme folder with a shell folder etc like the aero folder and you are applying a .theme file like aero.theme all renamed. I have never added a class and I have no idea how to do it. Why do you want to add one and why do you think it would work?

Windows 10 Dark Mode > Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Explorer Nav Pane > FILLCOLOR or Windows 10 Dark Mode > Explorer & Shell > Explorer > DarkMode Explorer Nav Pane > FILLCOLOR
I don't think you can add an image there

Help / Windows 10 / Re: background texture

Never use really big images.
Use really small ones if you are using the TILE sizingtype.
Never use TRUESIZE because then you're stuck with that one size. Use STRETCH so the image can be stretched to fit different sized windows.
By the way that Control Panel window can't be done right even with a TILE sizingtype because it's using some kind of weird composite tiling that's big in some places and small in others.

1) Delete the fillcolor 2) Add properties: ENUM/BGTYPE/IMAGEFILE ENUM/SIZINGTYPE/STRETCH,TILE or TRUESIZE FILENAME/IMAGEFILE/select your image (must be png) I did this at Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Control Panel > ControlPanel > ContentPane where I had to use a TILE sizingtype: Sometimes it works but usually it doesn't and then there's nothing you can do.

The more stuff you got on it (particularly places List) the taller it's gonna get to show it all

Change DEFAULTPANESIZE:RECT sizes: (x,y,width,height).
Right side: Places List
Left side: More Programs, Program List, NSC host, Open Box, Search View. Stay consistent with changed values.

What are talking about? You can't set it as a windows theme if you can't save your changes to it.

Well if the ProgramsList is the only thing you changed then the mistake has to be in there somewhere.
Go back and check everything.
Turn each change back to default and see if the msstyle will save until you find the change you made that's bad.

You made a mistake and now the file won't compile.
I can't tell what you did wrong unless I know everything you've been doing since the last time you tested/saved successfully. In detail.

Go to Google Images and search honeycomb backgrounds or surfaces. Or make your own in an image editor.

If it has image properties then yes. If it has like a fillcolor property or something that's not an image then no.
You just import an image with the import button to replace the old one and then adjust your image oriented properties if you need to.

If you cant do something as simple as copy/paste the Aero folder in Resources/Themes to your desktop and rename the parts like I told you then you're in the wrong place.
Do yourself a favor and download a theme and edit that in WSB and don't worry about anything else.

Are you going to be using StartIsBack and OldNewExplorer? Then the easiest way is to download something already themed for them and edit that in WSB. Way easier than adding that stuff yourself especially if you are just starting out and don't know anything about stylehacks and special shellstyles.
Otherwise just make a copy of the Aero folder, change the names and start from scratch

1) You can put WSB anywhere you want. 2) You don't need to install it. Just click on the exe. 3) Use the one attached here: https://www.vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=2535.0 I'm using it in 11 4) Never work on the default Aero theme. Make a copy of the Aero folder and change all the aero names to your theme names (folder, your name.msstyles and your name.msstyles.mui in en-US) 5) To actually apply a theme, you need to make a copy of aero.theme file. Open it in notebook and change the Display and msstyle names to your theme name and put this and your theme folder in Windows/Resources/Themes 6) Make sure your theme files are patched or WSB won't test and themes won't apply 7) Here's a video I made back in 2010 showing some really basic stuff. It's still kinda relevant: https://www.vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1268.0Hope this helps you get started
