Hi,

I really don't find where I can change the backgroundcolor of the following parts, which are marked in the screenshot. [red=the area above the favorites bar | blue=favorites bar | green=the area below the favorites bar (folder band) | purple=the seperator between favorites bar and explorer content]

Hope you can help me!

about the favourite links see  this,  stylehack made by PandaX  ,Favorite Links Gradient  http://http://stylehacks.deviantart.com/art/Favorite-Links-Gradient-101822134  .
vertical separATOR  ,   ----------> explorer and shell > shell > Preview Pane > 3
about the other 2,a for the background on navigation pane left white area  ----------> explorer and shell > shell > ComonPlaces >  Toolbar
b.about 'Folders', on the navigation pane down side,  ----------> explorer and shell > shell > ProperTree > 1
about the background 0n the main white right area, i know how to change to shellstyle.dll, though i dont know if there is a parameter also which affects on vistastylebuilder [ for changing the shell  see this  how i did  http://http://zeusosx.deviantart.com/art/Black-background-white-text-81934667    , also you can use http://Ave's vista's Folder background utility  http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/vista/ [also have a look to   ----------> explorer and shell > shell > PreviewPaneControl > GenericEDIT > Background ]
also for delete that gray line exist to the down side of the navigation pane upper from 'Folders'  see how i did after 2 years searching,   http://eliminating ExpandoSizerline http://zeusosx.deviantart.com/art/elimi ... e-98110684

open Shellstyle.dll\UIFILE\1.txt with resoursehacker, search for  <if id="atom(ProperTreeLinksHeader)">
 and change the parameters, foreground [= color text], background  =that you ask.

also : You can adjust margins and insert a bmp into the shellstyle.dll
For example
background="themeable(ARGB(255, 252, 252, 252), window)"
Change to
background="resbmp(123,0,1,0,0,0,0)"

----------------------

explanation of resbmp on shellstyle.dll

[ resbmp(a,b,c,d,e,f,g)

a = bitmap resource
b = stretching (1=normal, 3=tile, 6=stretch, 7=32 bit bitmap)
c = transparent color of bitmap not drawn (#rrggbb rr=red, gg=green and bb=blue e.g. #FF00FF= violet)
d = width of bitmap (used when f=0)
e = height of bitmap (used when f=0)
f = sizing (0 = use dimensions defined in d and e or 1 = use bitmap dimensions)
g = mirror (0 = normal and 1 = mirror)  ]

------------

SEE using modified aero style shellstyle.dll for VSB i made, tutorial http://http://www.vistastylebuilder.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20  , it is taken its value from  Fonts, Colors and System Metrics > Fonts and System Metrics > WINDOWTEXT : COLOR  black text  and  Fonts, Colors and System Metrics > Fonts and System Metrics > highlightTEXT : COLOR

or u mean the blue highlight? [its an image color not a color, on a modified aero mstyle on vista style builder if extracted all images, has number 207 ]

Thank you very much, I didn't know it is an image color.
But the other thing you've written is very interesting, too.
Btw. It looks like you've changed the alignment of the window title bar to center, is it right?

i have done much of this, before 1 year. i have started analysing vista mstyle from November 2006 with vista rc1 then with rtm, on November 2007 i have realeased my first osx style work for vista [you can see on my gallery how started this and how the progress on code and designing had come.

so via hex editing i have changed also window title bar to center, but only to the basic theme as aero is more stronged hard coded. also to my gallery i have realeased some things working with code http://http://zeusosx.deviantart.com/gallery/ , here a special aero style shellstyle.dll  http://http://www.vistastylebuilder.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20 for working and giving benefit to vista style builder.

------------------------

My new work is my last and final on vista, so in 1 or at least 2 months will realeased.
I have made about 30 experiments, but there ready about 2 compact color aero versions , and 1 transparent, and a second one transparent with shorter on pixel edges will become if i find time and my eys help me.
Its the only visual style that since now could have vertical separator bigger than 5 pixels, via changed code, also there is no expandosizerline on navigation pane with changed code i made http://http://zeusosx.deviantart.com/art/eliminating-ExpandoSizerline-98110684 , having internal borders adding code http://http://zeusosx.deviantart.com/art/Creating-internal-borders-89679660 etc etc
I do not allow any modifications of my work.
Made in H E L L A S (= Greece ).
Inspired by ZEUS.
thanks

When I change the color of the vertical separator the explorer background changes back to the white color instead of the color I had it previously.  Does anyone know why this is happening?

EDIT: NVM, I just remembered that VSB doesn't apply the shellstyle.  It's all good.
