no effect. Still the same. Tried making a shadow but the right side just reapers. Is there a way to break the blur in the start menu?

You can have an image there with 1% opacity and mess with the alphathreshold:int and that'll tell DWM not to renderblur there.

There's one already there. Just change it. Until you see an effect.

Vista Legacy > Start Menu > Basic > PlacesList

Start Menu > Panels > Basic > PlacesList
Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Logoff

AlphaThreshold:

You can set the transparency value to be used as a threshold  by entering a value between 0 and 255 in the  box. All transparency values above this threshold will become opaque and all transparency values below or equal to this threshold will become completely transparent.

What opacity are your images? Use the alpha threshold to make them transparent.

didn't check it, but maybe defaultpanesize:rect settings to 0,0,0,0 helps?

This one helped with eliminating the OpenBox for realizing the Leftside transparency-blur (image etc has still to be in the sub-class)
