1  Other / Other / virtualcustoms net & DeviantArt infected / hijacked? on: June 23, 2017, 05:10:23 pm
Today every link in virtualcustoms & DeviantArt leads to a game. If I try to switch to the previous site malware is installed switching to fullscreen...
What's going on??

EDIT
seems my PC had the infect, sorry.
2  Help / Windows 10 / Re: black selected values in Registry Editor since Win10-TH2 on: June 17, 2017, 02:59:03 pm
Yeah even In default it's back to highlighttext again like it was in 7. Not sure when it got changed back

Ah seems to be back to highlighttext since 1703? I did not upgrade yet cause of many reported issues in my preferred video apps.

gsw953's Obsidian in 1607 still shows this, regard the select-line is not only on the name but goes straight through all:

3  Help / Windows 10 / Re: black selected values in Registry Editor since Win10-TH2 on: June 16, 2017, 08:25:57 pm
p.s. next try

In my theme Lists,Menus &Tabs>Listview>Listitem is entirely empty, no enty at all.

May be your other entrys there make it work?
4  Help / Windows 10 / Re: black selected values in Registry Editor since Win10-TH2 on: June 16, 2017, 07:54:15 pm
I realize this thread is old but this is still relevant in RS2
If you have a textcolor at Lists,Menus &Tabs>Listview>Listitem>Selected
Remove it
Then the select text color in regedit(and many other programs, like Winrar and 7zip)
will be themeable from Fonts & System Metrics>highlighttext

Did not work here. Do you have a RS2 Theme without that issue?

I think the regedit black font color if selected must be a default color of Windows: Just to find that out my theme is completely without black (no #000000 to be found in color search).
So always if I find a 000 picking colors of a screenshot I know that this black is not coming out of my (findable) theme colors.

I wish somebody or Mr. Grim could find something to change it in shellstyle.dll?
Just checked in his RS2 Black Edition - still no solution, too sad Wink
5  Help / Windows 10 / Re: black selected values in Registry Editor since Win10-TH2 on: February 26, 2016, 01:49:36 pm
You're so right, no I missed changing the regedit.exe.mui file.
I anyway had not the best feeling doing it I thought like changing the 3 dll is enough for a time...
6  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Custom Class Maps and Import Scripts for Windows 10 TH2 & RS1 on: February 22, 2016, 06:11:31 am
That sucks.  Thanks MS!  Almost not worth theming at all anymore.

Give "Classic Shell" a try. For me working perfect on 10240 and TH2. I built my own start menu skin for it.
Icl. fast switching to org-Win10 start menu that was important for me.

The taskbar looks rahter perfect on the screenshot but on some background pictures you see that it's blurred. Like in the early days of Win7-stylehacks. Still waiting for the Win10-TH2 anti-blur tool Wink
But Windows is that fast changing at the moment, every hack is worthless after some months...

7  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Custom Class Maps and Import Scripts for Windows 10 TH2 & RS1 on: February 22, 2016, 05:22:39 am
I am using Uxstyle but this requires you to have your themes in the aero folder in a new folder called aerolite.msstyles, you will have to take ownership of the theme folder first then rename the original aerolite.msstyles and then create a folder with the same name, then put your theme in that folder.
...

Importing my Win10-10240 msstyles through above "Windows 10 RTM to Windows 10 TH2" gave me a good stable result using the dll-replacement method.

Trying the Uxstyle aerolite.msstyles folder-method with exactly the same theme on an untouched Win10 also first presented the theme ok.
But only until the next reboot. At booting the Win10-Logo flickering short and then Windows started in a wrong resolution. Rebooting again the resolution was ok but after a while I noticed that the Intel graphics driver was no more existant. Not possible to change the brightness of the Laptop monitor and no more Stand-by function.

I tried it on 2 different PC's (both Intel graphics) with similar result.
I imported 2 times point for point as described above with same results. So Uxstyle is not my friend..Wink

BTW.
The "Install UXThemePatcher..TH2" link where most virtualcustoms.net TH2-theme threads link to:
http://cleodesktop.deviantart.com/art/Install-UXThemePatcher-Windows10-10586-36-572822614

leads to:
http://www.cleodesktop.com/2015/11/install-uxthemepatcher-for-windows-10.html

links to:
http://downloadpack.net/index.php?dir=skin%2Fuxtheme%2Fwin10%2F

Here finally you can download "UXThemePatcher 10.sfx.exe".
I tried this exe a week ago and it is a FAKE.exe trying to install lots of garbage and does NO MORE contain the 3 dll's!
Sorry if I report that here.
8  Help / Windows 10 / Re: black selected values in Registry Editor since Win10-TH2 on: February 22, 2016, 03:26:50 am
..tried the 10240-regedit in 10586 already, does not even start.

There are some freeware regedit alternatives, just trying O&O RegEditor - seems to be ok on dark themes.
9  Help / Windows 10 / Re: black selected values in Registry Editor since Win10-TH2 on: February 22, 2016, 01:28:19 am
Too sad...
Since Mr Grim gave us some colored taskmgr.exe's in his extras I'm still dreaming of a new regedit.exe?

Though the Registry Editor is something really existential I can't believe that all dark-theme users from now on will see darkness using regedit?
10  Help / Windows 10 / black selected values in Registry Editor since Win10-TH2 on: February 21, 2016, 10:07:04 pm
The font color of highlighted/selected values in Win10 TH2-regedit has changed to black Sad
And/or the background has changed to default Explorer.

I have lightened the backgrounds a bit in
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem

but that's no good solution cause in a dark theme they are also used by many other lists with white font color.
Hoping Mr. Grim would have solved it I tried his "Windows Black Edition" but same result, highlighted regedit values barely readable.

Any idea?

11  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Test.msstyles to find color locations in WSB on: September 03, 2015, 01:52:37 pm
..just finished building a complete new Theme out of "Text-Fill-color Test.msstyles" - the color changing part needed only a few hours!

I'm not a Theme-Pro and have memorized only 2 locations in WSB.
The screenshot-> picking color code #xxxxxx-> WSB-search method is sensational fast and leads you direct to the matching properties in WSB.
I used 15 years old PSP7 (still running in Win10) for the color code picking job.
No need to klick-klick through long trees - yeah! Cheesy

p.s.
If after searching you wanna see the complete environment just klick on (high light) the found property and delete the value in the search box.

Rem.
-> save often, WSB is not so stable after a long session.
-> NEVER hit the WSB-"Test" button in Win10 !
-> NEVER let WSB switch to the new Theme after saving !
12  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Find screenshot colors on: August 31, 2015, 05:42:09 pm
Already done.

Thank you for the encouraging words! Wink

But the difference for me is - I can fast-find myself right at the moment I miss somehting instead of starting to read long lists.
-> and everybody can do it using the Test.msstyles

Here now "Text-Fill-color Test.msstyles" with all FILLCOLOR (about 500) and most FILLCOLORHINT + all TEXTCOLOR (about 500) have different colors !

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8424544/others/WSB_Themes/Text-Fill-color_Test.zip

-> all means - any color field or text hidden in the deepest Win10 deeps listening to any FILLCOLOR, FILLCOLORHINT or TEXTCOLOR are instantly found.
BTW - a good Macro is really fast in changing colors.. - WSB tolerated ~120 changes in one session, more caused a crash.

Two screenshots - Windows looks very colorful now... Smiley

13  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Find screenshot colors on: August 31, 2015, 04:40:23 am
Thank you! So here my -> textcolor_Test.msstyles
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8424544/others/WSB_Themes/textcolor_Test.zip
Hopefully that any of the hundreds of "Textcolor" values should contain another color!
Sometimes the color difference is only 1 bit so although no visible color difference - there is some and enough for a paint program and WSB to notice.

Next round may be I cange all "fillcolor(hint)"? That are hundreds again...

How to use:
If you find anywhere a text color, make a screenshot (print screen button) and paste it into a paint program.
Then blow it up min. 1:5 or more (not 'smooth' but by pixel!) and get the color code in html -> #xxyyzz
Best pick-points are in horizontal lines e.g. the bottom line of L or the center line of e.
Then enter the color code in WSB 'color search' -no images- é voila!

Note: if WSB finds nothing its a not-by-'textcolor' generated color. e.g. the white desktop icon letters.
Note2: Explorer is "clean" but some programs like WSB himself do a strong antialiasing on the letters. So the blow up will never result in clean colors.

"textcolor_Test.msstyles" is based on Mr Grim's "Black Edition" Theme.
May be it is useful to download this first and copy textcolor_Test.msstyles into. Then edit an existing xxx.theme to load it.
You're all much more Theme-Pro's then I am so you should know what I mean..? Smiley
http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/69707-Windows-10-Black-Edition

Here some first fast results.
I know some from Win7 and may be you know the others from Win8 but I never had Win8 and I didn't find a "WSB Tutorial - More_8_Maps" here.

Note3: all locations were found at the place but some must not be visible in the screenshots.

14  Help / Windows 10 / Test.msstyles to find color locations in WSB on: August 30, 2015, 05:36:07 pm
Hi, I'm just building a [BETA] 1.5.6.3 @ Win10 "Test.msstyles" with 100drets different colors (macro, I started with 'textcolor').
My hope is to find colors which Win10 really uses making screenshots and blowing them up in a paint program.

Next step would be to find the colors in WSB. But I'm not able to get [BETA] 1.5.6.3 to find any colors.
Old VistaStyleBuilder 1.5.0 can find them entering a number, e.g. 255 finds all colors containing R or G or B 255.

Entering any number or letter or whatever in [BETA] 1.5.6.3 (search mode -colors) finds nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

p.s.
Old VistaStyleBuilder (search mode -values) can also find colors entering a number, e.g. 255 finds all colors containing R or G or B 255 (and everything else with 255).
In [BETA] 1.5.6.3 this is again not working. How are the colors coded in this Beta?
15  Help / Windows 10 / Re: There will be a WSB for Windows 10? on: August 26, 2015, 11:54:36 am
Ah I see, you really mean [BETA] 1.5.6.3 but this one killed my Windows 10 twice these days. Black screen with curser after reboot.
May be together with UxStyle_0242_x86_x64_preview installed.

If I load a working theme in WSB [BETA] 1.5.6.3 and just tick on the "test" button all Explorer windows including the desktop change instantly to bold letters.
Un-checking "test", changing theme to a default one, reboot - the bold letters remain forever... Sad

p.s. -> has something to do with Windows running on a 4K screen (3840x2160). This is only practicable if Windows is entirely set to 150%.
16  Help / Windows 10 / Re: There will be a WSB for Windows 10? on: August 26, 2015, 04:09:58 am
They're created using the beta; http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=2130.0

It doesn't really support Win10 but it still works.

The link throws be back to the [BETA] 1.5.6.3 thread - what am I doing wrong?

Well I'm sure with this solution many people would klick around in the allmighty menu and send you frustrated messages why nothing happens... Cheesy
18  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Re: missing Classes, parts and states in betas on: June 22, 2015, 12:19:46 am
..aaahh, finally I got it, klick the Open button himself disregarding the attractive hover-popup leading to an insane import!
Hmm, how about an extra Import button with fat warnings? Smiley
19  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Re: missing Classes, parts and states in betas on: June 21, 2015, 11:41:48 pm
Ok ok,
3) ..yesterday working in the shell32.dll ... too much..Wink

2) I understood that.

1) I would say this is not so intuitive. Ctrl-o didn't work - so looking for sth. like "Open" right? And in "Open" was only "Import 7 theme".

Would be good to put there a fat warning: Never use "Import 7 theme" if you are in 7 !!!
How do you open a very new Theme? Always switch off Ribbon first?
20  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Re: missing Classes, parts and states in betas on: June 21, 2015, 07:03:35 pm
Much thanks!

Trying around I think I found it.
Loading a Theme using the classic "anti-ribbon" way or with ribbon by "New > Recent files" the theme is loaded ok.

But loading per "Open > Import 7 Theme" is broken/buggy:

DWM Window > Frames > Window > Top
contains some tiny bitmap, those who should be there are now here:

DWM Window > Frames > Details > Glows > Small Close Button
and I am missing many more.

Testing "Open > Import 7 Theme" with the untouched default Aero theme - same bugs.
21  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / missing Classes, parts and states in betas on: June 21, 2015, 08:20:05 am
Using WSB 1.5 all the time successfully. This you all know helped much:
http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/28810-Complete-Guide-to-Theme-Building
I added some points.

Now testing Beta 1563 (and others) I cannot find (i.e.) my top bitmaps for all windows.
Testing this on Win7 default Aero, same result - i.e. "... DWM Window > Frames > Normal" is missing in Beta 1.563.

WSB 1.5:

WSB 1.563B, missing 'Shadow', 'Reflections', ... and an added 'Controls':

WSB 1.5:

WSB 1.563B, Window, Shadowless Window..??:

WSB 1.5, here you know what you're working on:

WSB 1.563B, here not..

Hmm, what did I do wrong or what is wrong here ?
