Recently, I have been coding a in-memory UxThemePatcher module, which will patch uxtheme files in memory, so no disk files need to be modified.

Do you think it would benefit to integrate this into VSB when testing a theme?

Yeah, that sounds nice.  Is this essentially what StyleSelector and TuneUp Utilities 2009 does?

You could go the extra mile if you want and make a separate standalone release for the in-memory UxThemePatcher to add to your collection of apps, especially if you can make it support x64 themes (I believe StyleSelector only supports x86).  TuneUp Utilities supports both platforms but I don't think it's worth installing a "Swiss Knife" of an app just to use that feature.

I'm waiting on these as well. I check this site ( http://www.withinwindows.com/uxtheme-patches/ ) every day hoping to see it posted.
