Hi Guys,

i'd like to change Icons in the shell32.dll. In any Windows Edition before this was a quick action. But now, with Windows 8.1, the Shell32.dll has a "Digital Signature". If any customization is done on that File, the signature is missing (i know, microsofts security features to protect the user from himself...) and on restart a bluescreen occures.

So, is there a way to customize the shell32.dll AND keep the signatur?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

i've read a bunch of websites/posts about the digital signature. It seems to be impossible to keep the signatur...damn  Angry

BUT i've read something about "redirecting" my msstyle with OldNewExplorer to get the icons from imageres.dll (which can be edited safely) and not from shell32.dll.

Can somebody confirm that? If so, could somebody explain how? Or is there another way?

Thanks
Martin
