When I right click anything in the WSB tree I get an option to "export all properties under the tree". But when I click this nothing happens...like where I want to export them etc.

Never mind. It seems to be all internal to WSB.

But let's say I wanted to create a stylehack. I followed the advice in an earlier post about using the "export properties", right-clicking again, and then using  the "Stylehack Option". I don't see that option.

I'm missing the point of all this. Anybody have a clear, detailed explanation?

If you followed all these steps, i don't understand why it doesn't work:

1) Right-click and choose " Export all the properties ... <default>

2) "Export all marked properties to a Stylehack file"

3) Finally give a name and a description, choose an image, for your stylehack file:

Your will find your stylehack file into your appData folder:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\VistaStyleBuilder\StyleHacks

I think  in earlier versions of (V)sb  you didn,t need to open the tree up for the option to appear,I could be wrong there though

Stylehacks are limited ? For example, if i want to make a stylehack to display a gradient in the propertree instead of a single color, would it work ?

I tried but did not work. See, i removed the property "FILLCOLORHINT:COLOR" from explorer&shell>explorer>propertree>2, then added the 3 gradient properties, saved my stylehack, applied it and the gradient appeared, but the fillcolorhint:color property too. I tested and explorer shut down...

I may have forgot something ...?

Stylehacks don't delete properties. They only add.

You can make a stylehack of your whole taskbar.

Right click everything you want in your hack and choose export all properties for each one.
When you reach the last property you want right click export to a stylehack.
In the stylehack screen make sure all the properties you wanted to export are there.
Then name and click create.

It used to work in older VSB versions.  This is one problem I met when converting my Vista theme to work with Windows 7 (some properties and such weren't copied over by the auto-conversion).

Maybe in the next version they can get this working again.
