Thanks Panda ...

Need to start working from scratch then ...
2  Help / Windows 7 / System Files on: January 22, 2013, 03:19:27 pm
Does anyone knows which modified system files works in both 32bit and 64bit and which one needs a redo?
These are my files that have been modified in 32bit:

-  Explorer.exe
-  ExplorerFrame.dll
-  imageres.dll
-  shell32.dll
-  shellstyle.dll
-  winSATAPI.dll

I also forget about what have been modified in each file, if someone has a record of it than it will be a great help ...

Thanks

Here is my bitmap ... so you can test it ...
Appreciate if you can also post the one that you're using ... I like it better than mine  Smiley Smiley
4  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Windows System Rating on: January 11, 2012, 02:33:11 pm
You might have that mixed up, at least in my case with transparency is much better than solid color.

The first two images use a red solid color and the last two use transparency ...

Thanks guys ...
5  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Windows System Rating on: January 11, 2012, 01:15:42 pm
Yeah .. right ...
and also on your CPL-System only shows: "System Rating is not available"

Just in case you're interested in turning on/off of that Experience Rating, here is the link:

... and perhaps you can further explore the problem with the score number ugly looking ..  Smiley
6  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Windows System Rating on: January 11, 2012, 12:50:22 pm
Yes Dave, I've got that bitmap 221 & 222 ...
Tried to replicate your image and save it with alpha channel,
only shows a white background with black outline and the index number looks very ugly ...

Managed to disable Experience index thru regedit.
7  Help / Windows 7 / Windows System Rating on: January 11, 2012, 12:11:48 pm
3am,

in this thread:
http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1180.0

I notice that your rating only show: "System Rating is not available"
How do you disable the System Rating?

I hate that system rating index number, as it appears that it is a windows generated raster image and looks very jiggy if we replaced the panel color to a dark color. I also noticed Dave Senior has managed to overcome the problem ...
Perhaps Dave should also give a walk thru as to how he did it ..  Smiley
8  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Control Panel Caption Title on: December 29, 2011, 07:44:40 pm
Since I had the problem, the only change I did are in comctl32.dll and revert back shellstyle to its original file as suggested.
But now even I replaced all instances of foreground="windowtext" with foreground="argb(0, 0, 0, 0)", I can not recreate the problem.

So I did some manipulation in photoshop to illustrate the problem ...
The problem persisted even after restart or complete shutdown.
Every time Control Panel is launched it opened as illustrated, even command module is not showing ..
so I was unable to try to set the layout of the window (untick navigation pane)

10  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Control Panel Caption Title on: December 22, 2011, 04:33:53 pm
OK Thanks .. for time being I'll leave that as it is ..

EDIT:

Editing foreground="windowtext" to argb works as expected ... thanks again ...

EDIT:

Doing this cause a disturbing effect:
Control Panel Home and some other Control Panel items open up in explorer with Navigation Pane ..
11  Help / Windows 7 / Control Panel Caption Title on: December 22, 2011, 11:26:18 am
I've manage to get rid of the glow and tried to change the color of the text in:
Fonts, Colors, & System Fonts & System Metrics > WindowText:Color
but this also change text color in Window Explorer main window ...

Is there other way to change this without affecting WinExplorer main window?

Thanks

18  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Start Menu on: December 10, 2011, 09:52:08 am
Thanks guys ..

Logoff Button works with left margin changed in basic area ..

All Programs doesn't work in MoreProgramsTab both aero & basic
but works in Aero MorePrograms but at the cost of Selection bar is also shifted ...
19  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Start Menu on: December 10, 2011, 05:42:39 am
It's in aero ..

There is no ContentMargin in aero MorePragramsTab, so I add it .. doesn't work.
Same with Logoff Button.
Tried also to change in basic with no luck ...

Do I have to save and reboot?

Start Menu:

21  Help / Windows 7 / Start Menu on: December 10, 2011, 02:47:35 am
I manage to push the arrow in MoreProgramsTab to the right by manipulating the image and
would like to shift the All Programs text and the Logoff Button to the right.

Tried to change the ContentMargin no effect on both.
Changing the Logoff area ContentMargin only makes the button thicker instead of shifting to right.

Anyone can help please ... thanks.
22  Help / Windows 7 / Re: CommandModule on: December 05, 2011, 01:32:04 am
Reinstall Win7 as it seems there are no solution for the crashed browsers when uploading file. The line is now gone and Ka-la is right; need to lock the menubar before hiding it (I didn't even realize there is a menubar, I thought MS is throwing away almost anything).

Thanks for all the help and response ...

23  Help / Windows 7 / Re: CommandModule on: December 04, 2011, 12:59:41 pm
Yes it is paralel and on top of the CommandModule and it looks like it is part of CommandModule.
Will try to post a picture from the office tomorrow ... Thanks
24  Help / Windows 7 / CommandModule on: December 04, 2011, 12:06:49 pm
What is the location of a grey horizontal line between AddressBar and CommandModule?
I tried to recolor BackgroundShineLayer with solid red and this line is not effected.

Sorry not able to attach an image. It only just recently that both IE & GoogleChrome crashed everytime I tried to attach a file. Reboot didn't help..

Thanks
25  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Navigation Button background image on: December 02, 2011, 03:35:47 pm
I'm happy with the alternative using ReBar but will also trying to adjust the image ... thanks for the help.
26  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Navigation Button background image on: December 02, 2011, 02:30:02 pm
OK ... the one in win explorer take effect immediately but on control panel will only take effect after reboot.
Sorry about that guys and ... thanks again ...

Dave, I'm not an expert on this, so assume inserting a transparent pixel is by adding canvas width on left side of the existing image ... I'll keep playing on this ...

27  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Navigation Button background image on: December 02, 2011, 05:18:00 am
Main control panel window, personalize, display etc ...

Nice looking panel you have there ... is it based on aero or basic?

Also, I would like to shift the AddressBar a little bit to the right. How to do this? ...  thanks

30  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Navigation Button background image on: November 30, 2011, 10:08:18 pm
Yes .. I change both 280 & 281 and did reboot. I'm on 32bit.
After reboot I also check the explorerframe.dll in system32 folder with Restorator, both images are changed ... Thanks for your response anyway Dave ..
31  Help / Windows 7 / Navigation Button background image on: November 30, 2011, 09:03:59 pm
I'm trying to get rid of the background of Navigation Button in win explorer
(the one that look like horizontal 8). I changed the image in explorerframe.dll (image 280 & 281) with transparent image but they don't have any effect.

I noticed in APPOWS theme the themer only change image 280.

Anyone know how to do this?  Thanks ...

32  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TaskBar Help on: November 26, 2011, 08:01:55 pm
OK then .. I hope I would still be able to shift the start button to the right by manipulating the image.
I will use TrueLaunchBar to get a compact pinned items. Problem solved ... Thanks guys.
33  Help / Windows 7 / TaskBar Help on: November 26, 2011, 04:06:49 pm
Could someone please guide me as to how to resize the area taken by elements in taskbar,
for instance :
- resize the width of area taken by start button or modifying the left/right margins
- reducing the margin between pinned programs

Thanks in advance

35  Help / Windows Vista / Need help with window frame on: November 25, 2011, 09:57:57 am
Hi all,

I'm newbee and just started today with WSB.
I'm ok with the style of win7 in general and only bothered with windows frame.

How can I get rid of the glowing white around the title text and change the text to white?

Second thing is will it be possible to have the frame color in one color only?

Thanks for any help ..
