41  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Build 10532 on: September 01, 2015, 11:54:48 am
It sort of makes sense to add it as these updates will likely be pushed out to all windows 10 users as some time, so best to have this already added for future compatibility.

That's normal when you don't have grouped icons.
43  Help / Windows 10 / Windows 10 SiB Start Menu Style Script and Hack on: August 10, 2015, 07:09:34 pm
This is a style script and style hack to add a SiB start menu to a new Windows 10 msstyles.

First run the "Prep for SiB start menu windows 10" Style Script to remove unwanted crap in Start Menu > Panels and then run the 10 SiB Stylehack.

Note: The start menu will not show properly when testing unless you open the SiB properties and select the Start menu and Apply. This will have to be repeated every time you hit test, seems to be a bug with SiB on Windows 10.

44  Other / Other / Re: Hate Windows 10? on: July 31, 2015, 11:14:25 am
Those are the optional ones included with OldNewExplorer, just uncheck the box for them.
45  Other / Other / Re: Hate Windows 10? on: July 31, 2015, 03:01:22 am
Yeah no idea why it's not working for me, the sub menu works but not the main one.

Edit: just found out it's a problem with SiB, I disabled it and it was working as expected.
46  Other / Other / Re: Hate Windows 10? on: July 31, 2015, 01:16:20 am
Sadly not, the borders are changing but the background is white and the text is black, I don't seem to be able to change it.
47  Other / Other / Re: Hate Windows 10? on: July 31, 2015, 12:35:43 am
Same here, not hating on it at all, I will keep it on the VM for now on my main rig but I have already upgraded the family PC and my Wife's as they are not interested in customisation, I also wanted to take advantage of the Xbox streaming which I found to be a pretty good experience and was surprised to see there was less lag streaming to my PC monitor then there was going directly to the TV from the console.

I really would like to see some better customisation tools for it in the future and I hope we can find a way to bring back Taskbar customization, aside from that though everything is working great, SiB works just as it did with 8 with a few new improvements, OldNewExplorer still works great aside from hiding the folders, Aero Glass seems to be working well with some new nice features as well, I think Windows 10 could have a bright future, I think I may just bite the bullet and upgrade my main rig, I also want to take advantage of DX12 as I mainly built this rig to play games.

I have a quick question though, sorry to go off topic but anyone know if there is a way to theme the context menu on the start button, it seems to be different from the normal and immersive ones.
48  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Buld 10240 on: July 16, 2015, 05:23:30 am
been like that for a while now, not sure when it first appeared.
49  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Buld 10240 on: July 16, 2015, 03:02:44 am
Here are some updated Class Maps and Class Groups with all the unknown locations in their proper places, I also have updated (modified) shell32.dll and explorerframe.dll UI files to use with OldNewExplorer.

Would have been great if it was real, I have give up hope on Windows 10 though and I think Tihiy may have as well as I have not seen him announce any recent working versions of SIB for a long while now.
53  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Windows 7 style for Windows 10 on: May 13, 2015, 03:43:36 pm
No, not without porting and not the complete theme, Taskbar and Start Menu will be lost

55  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Old New Explorer 1.1.5 on: April 01, 2015, 06:10:15 am
Working for me OK, just had to make sure "Use Libraries: Hide folders from This PC" is left unchecked, I used a registry hack instead to remove the folders.
56  Help / Windows 10 / Re: build 10049 on: April 01, 2015, 06:08:14 am
Might be you. I have had WSB get corrupted a few times with these upgrades in VM ware, mainly the AveStyle.msstyles, solution is download a fresh copy and replace that file.
57  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Images Shell32 Windows 8.1 on: April 01, 2015, 12:50:47 am
You are correct, if you start a new theme there will be no start menu, the only way you can get the start menu is to.

A. Manually add every property and image in the correct locations.
B. Use a Windows 8 theme with the start menu still in it.
C. Import a Windows 7 theme
D. Use the Style hack I have included (for use with 8.1+ themes only)
58  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Progress Bar bg bevel on: March 29, 2015, 11:57:18 am
I would say thats because of the background image, the lines in the background line up with the bevel and it makes it brighter, to avoid this you could make the bevel opaque.
59  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Old New Explorer 1.1.5 on: March 27, 2015, 07:33:21 pm
Anyone else noticed that you cant put images in the command module and details pane using a new aero msstyles, the images are there they just wont show.

Never mind, not sure what was going on before but seems to be fine again now.
60  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Build 10041 on: March 22, 2015, 10:37:52 pm
Also wanted to note that OldNewExplorer is working very well with this latest build, had to grab fresh UI files from the shell32.dll and explorerframe.dll and modify them again as the old ones no longer functioned properly, here some images of my theme with the new UI files.

Not sure if any of you want the updated modified UI files but here they are.

Also does anyone know if it's possible to modify the width of the new caption buttons, are they contained within any UI files, would also love to know if it's possible to revert the new task item by modifying any files.
61  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Build 10041 on: March 22, 2015, 10:28:26 pm
Just wanted to note that the Taskband is seriously messed up in this build, aside from some parts that can not be modified now, most of the parts have been mixed up as well as new parts added, the Taskband extended UI is also very messed up and now instead of one complete shadow image it uses 4 separate shadow images like in the DWM shadow images, I really hope that this new style does not remain this way as it's going to severely effect Windows 10's ability to be skinned.
62  Help / Windows 10 / Build 10041 on: March 19, 2015, 12:26:54 pm
New Class: Unknown > TaskbarPearl > <2> Start button now back in msstyles but you can only use an image count of 1, hover and active states do not show images.

Just did a bit more testing and the part id 1 seems to be for the hover, it has an image count of 3 and if you put a start button image there and set the part id 2 to show no image then part id 1 will show hover and pushed states but not the normal state, part id 2 however will show the normal state but cancels out the same area in hover and pushed, MS really like to do things in a strange way

64  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Save As / Notepad and others on: December 27, 2014, 04:06:49 pm
I never have the problem as I always do a complete shutdown every night, the problem was discovered by a guy on Devianart using my HUD theme and he also provided the solution and I tested and found out he was correct, I agree with you though about using UltraUX or anything that modifies system files to run custom themes on Windows 8, as we all know there is no fallback like on Windows 7 where it would use a basic theme if patched files were replaced in a windows update, instead you are left with the black screen bug in Windows 8, I personally have been using UxStyle http://uxstyle.com since is was first made available on windows 8 and have never had a problem as it runs as a service which sounds the same as the UxTheme multi-patcher you recommended.
65  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Save As / Notepad and others on: December 27, 2014, 02:24:15 am
Windows 8 loads defaults from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\DefaultColors] after every lock/sleep/hibernate.

Make a backup of that key, take ownership of it, and then delete that whole key (defualtcolors).

Then you wont have a problem.

If WSB crashes go straight to C:\ProgramData\Windows Style Builder\Testing and grab the most recent working msstyles and then rename it to the original name.

Hey mate, thanks for the hard work!  Am I the only one who is experiencing BSOD after applying and saving?  I can test it and it works great but when I save the file and go to use the theme from the personalization options it Black Screens on me?  Any suggestions.

Here's the Windows 8.1 theme I'm working with without the jumplist fix so it should work fine until you apply and save the stylescript.

Thanks for any help/suggestions.  As always please make a system restore point/create snapshot before using.

Sorry guys I had not noticed this, I have only tested in WSB, not from the personalization menu, guess I will have to fire up the VM again to see if I can reproduce it, is it with both scripts or just one of them?

75  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Taskbar JumpList Fix Stylescript (Works with SiB) on: October 09, 2014, 05:23:52 am
Sorry maybe I should have mentioned, this will not work if you have already moved the start menu in the msstyles with the previous 811 jumplist fix style script, this one will only work for themes that kept all the resources in their original location from 8.0 themes that were used with SIB to correct the Jumplist, however I could possibly make another script that you can use with the already applied 811 Jumplist style script.
76  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Taskbar JumpList Fix Stylescript (Works with SiB) on: October 04, 2014, 07:54:32 pm
OK got an updated stylescript that should take care of everything and create a backup of the old Start Menu > Panels > Basic in Start Menu > Panels > SIB Basic. it will also remove all the unwanted Vista start menu left over junk, I have included new data files as well with updated class and groups.

Style Scripts to do all the work for you converting your 8.0/8.1.1 theme to windows 10, works with SIB as well.

Update: October 9th

Cleaned up script and made alternative 8.1.1 to 10TP Script, now supports 8.0 to 10TP with working Start Menu using SIB
New Class Groups added with the following locations created after the script is used.
Start Menu > Panels > SIB Aero
Start Menu > Panels > SIB Basic
Start Menu > Menus > Aero > Taskbar JumpList

8.0 to 10TP Script
Code:

OK that's a strange place, looks like we wont have hot tracking color for it now then, thanks Dave,  with tat unknown class Unknown > TaskbarJumpList::ListView you can just add it with the add class button, save then reopen and then you can add all the missing properties.

Here is a list of all the ones I found so far for the jump list.

New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Programs List > Controls > Programs List Split Button Left    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Jump List Split Button Right
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Places List > Panels > Places List Extended    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Aero > Top > Jump List > Panels > Jump List User
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Places List > Panels > Places List Separator    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Aero > Top > Jump List > Panels > Jump List System
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Places List > Controls > Logoff Split Button Right  > Width = 26    -    This property is new and right side split wont work without it
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Pin Item Icon Size    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Jump List Item
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Pin Item Icon Vertical Offset    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Jump List Split Button Left
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Pin Item Icon Horizontal Offset    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Jump List Split Button Right
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Search > Open Box    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Pin Item Icon Size
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Search > Open Box Extended    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Pin Item Icon Vertical Offset
New    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Search > Search View    Old    -    Start Menu > Panels > Basic > Jump List > Controls > Pin Item Icon Horizontal Offset

Here is how mine looks now and with a fully working start menu on SIB

Anyone else getting the tooltips going under the jumplist menu?
