4  Other / Other / Re: WMP 12 Background on: April 26, 2010, 09:10:40 am
wmploc.dll > BITMAPS folder > bitmap 5402. You may extend its length , but be aware that the image tiles across your screen  Cheesy

19  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Outer glow on window frames. on: April 16, 2010, 10:33:01 pm
Ok i looked at UK.Intels work and kinda copied what he did ( His is an Aero frame , but mine is a solid non Aero frame , added some inner stroke to the frame and it looks very similar but i cant work out about the outer glow ? I have looked at the  Windows and Caption Buttons > Aero > Dwm Window > Frames and the rest of that section and i cant really see anything. I tried to mess about with the drop shadow as well.
Happy with the result , just be cool to find the glow. Cheesy

21  Help / Windows 7 / Re: What am i doing wrong ? on: April 16, 2010, 03:04:46 pm
I thought it was just me being an idiot and doing things wrong , So glad i saved all my work as i went along as I've pretty well got it back to the way it was now.
Really strange about the two saves, I lose half my VS instantly, So i know to go to my themes folder and sort it out and my VS kicks back instantly.

22  Help / Windows 7 / Re: What am i doing wrong ? on: April 16, 2010, 01:25:07 pm
Back after a clean install of W7 and my system set up all nice and fresh . WSB is working perfectly ,even imported all my previously saved files from a desktop folder  back into my new VS and its all going well , cant be happier Cheesy

I have noticed something and it may be the cause of some of my problems.

Occasionally WSB saves two copies of the Windows VisualStyle file. This causes my VS is get buggy and lose parts of my VS that i previously edited . I have to use default Aero then delete the older file and use the newer version. My VS perfectly then.

I think this happens if i get and error code saying " WSB could not compile the MsStyle" or something along those lines.  Is this normal or am i doing something wrong ?

Thank you all for the advice  Cheesy
23  Help / Windows 7 / Re: What am i doing wrong ? on: April 15, 2010, 12:12:11 am
Sorry about that , was typing my post and my phone rang. Musta leant on my keyboard and posted gibberish  Cheesy

Must i edit/save as a temp file ? That may well be my problem.  Still cant work out why my VS seems to disintegrate even  after multiple saves.
24  Help / Windows 7 / What am i doing wrong ? on: April 14, 2010, 11:32:58 pm
I am running W7Ultimate X86 and am using this VS  http://mrgrim01.deviantart.com/art/Xtreme-Red-Windows-7-Theme-146733698

I wish to edit the VS as it will be easier for me to see what files have been changed instead of looking at default Aero. I export a file to my desktop , open it up in PS CS4 , do my thing and then save it as a png. I also save a PSD and alter it a later if wish.

I import the image back into WSB keeping the same dimensions. I test it and if i am happy with it i save it. My VS saves and then it seems to fall apart slowly. Im not blaming the application as im sure its all user error.  6 hours ago it was looking cool , 3 hours ago i lost half of it and now its a mixed up default Aero /Custom VS . Im now back to a third Aero Default, a third custom VS and the remaining third is my VS.

WTF am i doing wrong ?
 Cry lol.

27  Tips and Visual Styles / StyleHacks / Re: longhorn style hacks for windows 7 on: April 14, 2010, 09:04:55 pm
Yeah the Nav buttons are displayed under the default ones, I was going to try and sort it out in ExplorerFrame  , but i will take your advice and leave it alone  Cheesy   Maybe i can find some resources to exchange via Restorator ?

I did notice most default SH's  don't work, had to download one from devART to remove my user pic . Its a pity you cant see what someone has done , be a really good way to learn as im sure you will agree its a steep learning curve.

Never did use Longhorn , still see some mods for it on my journeys on the interwebz , Looks cool without a doubt.
28  Tips and Visual Styles / StyleHacks / Re: longhorn style hacks for windows 7 on: April 14, 2010, 07:54:20 pm
Ok cool simple as that ? Can i somehow see what the actual stylehack does ? By that i mean can i see what files are manipulated in WSB, be cool to learn how to do it manually and also to change things as well in the event of something going wrong. Im maybe jumping running before i can walk , but how would i write a stylehack and share it ?

WSB is a cool Application , wish i got this years ago   Cheesy

31  Help / Windows 7 / Re: WMP12 Searchbar location help on: April 13, 2010, 08:59:17 pm
I have run every single image through PS and turned them all black ,Png's and Bitmaps and it did nothing at all to the search boxes . Only thing i can think of is its Hex or something like that inside folder 256 in wmploc.dll or another WMP12.dll ?

Its one of the reasons i bought WSB , my obsession with the search boxes continues...... Cheesy

Thanks 3am.
32  Help / Windows 7 / WMP12 Searchbar location help on: April 13, 2010, 07:36:48 pm
I have been making some themes for WMP12 and im stuck on two items that i just cant find in wmploc.dll. I asked this question on another forum and was shown an image of the searchbar in wmp12 that was changed using WSB, unfortunately the person that changed it could not remember what he did  Tongue

The two items are :

Search box in WMP12 Main window.
Searchbox in the Burn/Play/sync basket.

You can see what i mean in the image below. I've been trying to work this out for a long time and I'm completely stuck ... Anyone got any ideas Please ?

33  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Win7 help please. on: April 13, 2010, 07:14:36 pm
Thanks  Tongue This is a lot different to a WMP12 theme, that's for sure ! But i can really see myself getting into this once i work it all out and read some tutorials.
Reinstalled WSB, deleted some VS's that gave me problems and i think i will just start all over making a VS as some images dont match up in my start menu correctly even though i made it from one image in PS.

Thanks for your help 3am, appreciate it  Cheesy
34  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Win7 help please. on: April 13, 2010, 06:34:01 pm
Thanks for a speedy reply.
I just did another system restore a bit further back and reapplied UniversalThemePatcher and rebooted .I can now import and export files and saved a theme.Still getting the error code below when i continue editing the VS. I have not rebooted yet with my new VS applied yet.

Im importing images into the correct locations ( I hope  Tongue) What does that error code mean please ? Could it be down to corrupt files in the VS.
35  Help / Windows 7 / Win7 help please. on: April 13, 2010, 03:43:22 pm
Hey guys 1st post  Cheesy

I seem to be having some problems in creating a new VS/editing an custom VS in Win7 ultimate X86.

I purchased WSB yesterday and started using it today. Previously i was using Restorator and have already extracted the images and edited the start menu and Superbar in CS4. I then opened up WSB and imported the images and saved the theme. Windows update asked me to reboot and i was locked out of the log on screen upon reboot completion, So i booted into system repair and did a system restore and was able to boot back into Win7.

I can no longer import/export any images either into a new VS or custom VS, although drag and drop works fine .Cant seem to save anything either. I did receive an error message saying something like " I have a problem with Msstyles as it may be corrupt".

Any ideas as to my problems please and how to solve them ?

Aero works fine and so does the VS that i am trying to edit.
