81  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Status Bar Icons & CP Font Color ? on: October 12, 2009, 02:20:13 pm
some Fonts are set in the shellstyle uifile.txt (for example the library pane at the end of the file)

and some are set in the shell32.dll (there are multiple uifile.txt: general windows and also the control-panel window settings)

i guess the icons are set in explorer.exe (not sure, but i had a modified explorer.exe on vista, where the icons in folderband were changed, maybe it's there, too)

82  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Pushbuttons on: October 09, 2009, 06:35:30 pm
hey mate yeh I have the problem in my IE8 its a real pain, can I fix it my not removing any font settings in push button? or am I confused?

any font setting can be left (shadow, textcolor) but the font:font itself must be removed.
83  Other / Other / Re: How to make a white text? on: October 09, 2009, 01:48:02 pm
Yeah Raj, many Thanks, too..

i was thinking last days about the way to set the shellstyle font in msstyle, but with shadow activated..
it shows the syntax how to..

i've seen in another ui.txt, it's even possible to activate cleartype this way..

this is a new project for the next days

btw the animated thumbnail/icon in previewpane, i didn't get it working.. (tested to mod the shell32.dll)  Cry
but an animation like in oobe would be a big thing...
84  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Pushbuttons on: October 09, 2009, 07:41:43 am
But do you remember, whether it was in the msstyles or in a .dll?

it was surely in msstyle (the shellstyle has nothing to do with pushbutton). i will search for it when at home..
85  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Pushbuttons on: October 08, 2009, 07:24:31 pm
sorry, not highlight (it's set by normal, hot, etc..)

but i don't know exactly where, because the test function doesn't work correctly in this part.
i changed a lot of settings, and in test function not one of them worked.

finally i applied the VS, and surprisingly it was there..
86  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Pushbuttons on: October 08, 2009, 07:16:34 pm
you can add everything (shadows, highlight colors etc) but the font itself is set somewhere else.
87  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Pushbuttons on: October 08, 2009, 06:55:07 pm
never add a font in Push-button..

this error comes with IE8 etc..

88  Help / Windows Vista / Re: where do i find this bar? on: October 08, 2009, 05:28:33 pm
there are two more places for menu-bands in Explorer Windows:

Rebar / Default / Background (testable in ControlPanel Section or Opening "Computer" Window)

and

Rebar/Rebar (testable when opening Music, Pictures etc..)
89  Help / Windows Vista / Re: Cant Find These on: October 06, 2009, 10:11:25 am
in original Vista Theme it's an ARGB Gradient in UI.txt in shellstyle.dll, not an image

There are a lot Shellstyles around that put an BMP in this area
(the problem is, that it blows up the filesize of the shellstyle (i've seen shellstyles with 6MB Filesize Huh?)
But you can also place an opaque image in CommandModule and Previewpane/1/1
(7 UI does it this way)  so the gradient ist overlayed with your desired image.

in my last firedance VS i've linked it  (in the shellstyle) to a new image section in the MSStyle, so the background image can be set in the msstyle and the shinelayer is still possible.

how this works, is described here http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=215.0

i'm thinking about a tutorial for this special topic..
90  Help / Windows Vista / Re: where do i find this bar? on: October 05, 2009, 04:46:51 pm
3am do you also know where to change color of menu bar just above command module 1 ( not shown in screenshot as it is hidden ) ?

The Menubar is somewhere in Menu (it's an 1 pixel wide graphic with an active/inactive option - 2 pics one graphic)
91  Help / Windows 7 / Re: customize IE8 on: October 05, 2009, 04:30:13 pm
you can use the UKintel's tutorial  (need hex editing )
http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs17/f/2007/224/e/2/Vista_Hex_Editing_Tutorial_0_7_by_UkIntel.pdf

"3.9: Internet explorer toolbar text color"

I'm sure this doesn't work anymore for IE8

btw you can change the toolbar text color in VSB for IE8
(i guess it is the buttontext or the menutext color, because in my last VS i the text became grey with change to black when highlighted)
92  Help / Windows 7 / Re: customize IE8 on: October 05, 2009, 04:26:47 pm
Thanks panda and sunbeam for help .

By the way sunbeam , how does it look for changing tabs color in this txt , I mean is there specific words to search ? ( I'm running win 7 x64 )

Regards

the 7 Version doesn't matter for this topic.

in the ui.txt of ieframe.dll is an color sequence for the instances of opening tabs (Yello, Green, Purple etc.)
i didn't test it, but i'm sure they are to change, even skinable with graphics

93  Help / Windows Vista / Re: VSB Tutorial / Help on: October 05, 2009, 11:38:24 am
Wilkommen im Club!  Wink

There is almost nothing. The best is, to load a Theme and click through it step by step.

A lot Topics are discussed here, so it takes some time to understand it, but i guess, it will go faster as you expect
94  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Control panel images and text on: October 05, 2009, 11:34:35 am
WOW! Extremely nice design!!

But i can't believe you haven't found out, when i see how far the progress of this theme is.

search all fonts in VSB and check them step by step, there must be some blue and green fonts colors.

some fonts in the library pane are in the shellstyle.txt

95  Help / Windows 7 / Re: customize IE8 on: October 05, 2009, 11:28:41 am
The images are in ieframe.dll so you can reshack them.

Yes and the colors of the Tabs are the uifile.txt in the ieframe.dll
96  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Help if possible on: October 02, 2009, 10:33:03 am
Hi, can I remove or re color the two white lines in this image?

Thanks for any help

http://img27.imageshack.us/i/explorersnip.jpg/

yep it's in the previewpane, but lower in this section, the NavPaneSizer and the ReadingPaneSizer..

it would be cool if VSB would name them instead of numbers..
(they are named and linked to in the shellstyle.txt)
97  Help / Windows Vista / Re: Bigger Round Corners doesnt work on: October 01, 2009, 12:33:37 pm
DWM's marginalizing system is incomprehensible though.

indeed. it seems that it has it's own internal margins behind it.. but they are to handle in a special range..
(the dimaond substyle of an older VS from me has completely different settings, but it took it's time to get it properly displayed)

i've thought about it and i guess the larger corners are only possible with a wider glass frame.
the corner cannot go into the inner window part (where the folderband x-axis-position begins), as seen in the preview.
98  Help / Windows Vista / Re: Bigger Round Corners doesnt work on: October 01, 2009, 11:13:19 am
you definitely have to redraw the corners and set the fitting margins to them..

modifing the existing Frames only by new margins doesn't work.
99  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Detail Panel Win7 on: September 29, 2009, 03:21:18 pm
I want to make that round cornes in a theme for win7 and i dont know how to do that.
i have play around after i have see an example on a vista theme but with no result. please help

it's in the Shell/PreviewPane/1/1
in Vista it's the shinelayer for the previewpane background,
MS uses it in 7 for the complete previewpane (not very elegant).
but you can reactivate it again as shinelayer with the bottomcurve like M7 or anything else
it's one of my favourite theming parts Wink and i've used it in many variations in my themes

You can also take the Previewpane/1/2 as secondary shinelayer for different Panetypes (for example Games or Save-As Dialog)
but you have to link to it in shellstyle.txt
(the second shinelayer once was dedicated for vertical Panes which Vista (&7) never used)

if you want to see it in action, look into my Firedance VS

the same goes for explorer/CommandModule/1 for the Folderband
100  Other / Other / Re: Win 7 Animations.. on: September 29, 2009, 08:10:18 am
Hi Panda X

this is the problem: in this oobefdlr file the welcome center, with this setting, the welcome center's text appears with a fade in animation, but when we port the SAME code in the shellstyle we obtain the opposite effect  Sad I tried all settings possible, in all places available. As Kerry said, i think the fade out animation is only useful after the fade in effect

and what means "alpha=0" ? it doesn't appears with others effect (expand, horizontal/vertical and positions animations). Maybe the solution ?

i guess the alpha value sets from where the fade ranges, if you set it 128 the animation never goes to 100% tranparency but 50%

and btw in oobefldr the fade in animation is described as <if element id="atom(FadeIn)" ... not as <if element id="atom(animation)"..., if i've read it correctly (can't check it atm)
101  Other / Other / Re: Win 7 Animations.. on: September 28, 2009, 09:10:40 pm
Hi sunbeam,
Interesting,
Spazpunt is working it currently if i understood
i believe we can find some of these animation in Longhorn Reloaded project : http://www.ddlarea.com/pc-software/operating-system/16997-longhorn-reloaded-build-4074-cd-32-bit.html

yesterday he submitted me another video with others animations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9ifQvQCO7Y
i 'm trying to port this concept when we open a folder and the images appears with an expand animation

I made some change in the shellstyle, and i published the first results of this animation in vista (only in alpha version, with a lot of bugs  Huh? )
the header and the images in explorer appears from the left and stabilize in the center . I try to add others effects
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojwnK2ZYXSM

i tested a lot settings, too.. the only thing i've managed is to fix the PreviewThumbnail with an absolute Size (like in oobefldr.dll) but that's not intended  Wink
i guess the solution is in the shell32.dll (i'm pretty sure manwhile, because the Thumbnail is more described there (including layoutpos etc.),
but enough for today, maybe i will test it tomorrow
102  Other / Other / Re: Win 7 Animations.. on: September 28, 2009, 01:14:18 pm
but maybe the scroll down animation in shellstyle might be possible?

(like RajTheeban found the animation, maybe only another animation description needed ?)
103  Other / Other / Win 7 Animations.. on: September 28, 2009, 01:09:47 pm
we'll never see on real Desktop  Sad

it's an awesome video from UXEvangelist http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5hBIDS7J4U
104  Help / Windows Vista / Re: Window Background on: September 21, 2009, 05:56:01 pm
thx will try it out now, ow on earth do you guys find these things?

just checked the only thing i get is this

how will I know which one to edit if there is like 6 of them and all have the same text and nowhere to enter the color.

i didn't check it, but this looks like a 7 shellstyle txt, and this time the color is placed in the msstyle, so you can edit there with VSB
105  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 13, 2009, 07:26:58 pm
I found this in 5219's shellstyle

Code:
<!-- CLSID_DocPropEditBoxControl -->
<if controlclass="{A9CF0EAE-901A-4739-A481-E35B73E47F6D}">
<propertyelement layoutpos="client"/>
</if>
<if controlclass="{E2183960-9D58-4E9C-878A-4ACC06CA564A}">
<propertyelement layoutpos="client"/>
</if>

So apparently if you want to get/use/do something with the CLSID you can "<if controlclass=""></if>"

it still seems not to work, i've changed the "TemplateID" to "controlclass" and checked the classes again, but 7 won't accept it.

these are mine ID's:

Documents: {FDD39AD0-238F-46AF-ADB4-6C85480369C7}

Music: {4BD8D571-6D19-48D3-BE97-422220080E43}

106  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 05, 2009, 08:48:04 pm
the Generic text color is in this part in the text above: "themeable(gtc(GenericPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0, 3803), windowtext)"

you have to place a textcolor in the Edittext-Folder in 7SB

and so do it for

"themeable(gtc(DocumentsPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0, 3803), windowtext)"

and so on...

108  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 05, 2009, 12:40:55 pm
when you put a text in Generic you have to link in shellstyle to font="gtf(GenericPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0)"/>

with Documents to font="gtf(DocumentsPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0)"/>
with Music to font="gtf(MusicPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0)"/>
with Pictures to font="gtf(PicturesPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0)"/>

don't forget the height="xxrp" in the end of the line !! (it's not the font height, but the Height of the element itself (if the font is larger than the height, it cuts off)
and place a font in every edit-tree, but directly in the Edit-Text, not in the subdivisions
109  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 05, 2009, 09:28:24 am
The TemplateIDs aren't in the registry either. Which you now know.

Thanks for your help, i really appreciate it.
i now have no more interest for finding it out.
110  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 05, 2009, 09:23:17 am
i have tried to modify  font="gtf(DocumentsPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0)" in uifile.txt for all 4 tipe of document but when i aplly the theme the explorer freeze and wont work anymore. i dont know what i've done wrong, but i wanet to ask you if you can port giannisgx89 shellstyle to windows 7, fonts, size of the fonts and colors for all 4 tipe of style.
Here you have attached the shellstyle modified by panda x for multishellstyle that i used in my theme. the theme is Longhorn Air7 that was a project begin by giannisgx and i want to finish this theme and this is the last thing that i have to do to the theme  ... thank you very much.

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mnmijw3zno3

btw, i made the uifile in LH Air (Vista) and what i'm working on, is the port. but i still fail to get the multishell-Folderband working,
so please understand i will not post it until it's done.
when your theme crashes, i guess, you didn't put a font in this msstyle part, so it won't work.
if you take panda's shellstyle, there are already the graphics in this part, so you should know what to do.

try it here: http://redrumy3.deviantart.com

he has (Top)Shell32.dll for nearly all builds
112  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 04, 2009, 06:10:26 pm
Those aren't template IDs. You can try but I highly doubt they'll work.

no they don't.. i don't find them, also registry doesn't give me a working foldertypeID.

but it sounds, that you know the solution and let us stumble in the dark  Wink
113  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 04, 2009, 06:06:15 pm
How did you change the size of the font in detail panel ? can you show me how to do it ?

you have to change the metadata Elements Font in the concerning Folder parts in the shellstyle.dll/uifile.txt for example

<if id="atom(PreviewMetadataTitleControl)"> <MetadataElement font="16;Normal;shadow;Segoe UI"  height="24rp" />

but there is a more elegant solution by installing a Font in W7SB in the Shell-Section and then %Foldertype%PreviewpaneControl (Generic,Documents,etc.)
for example: font="gtf(DocumentsPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 1, 0)"

so you can set and change the font in W7SB, but i took the first way to activate Textshadow.

if you need a working example, look into the shellstyle.dll/uifile.txt of http://giannisgx89.deviantart.com/art/Longhorn-Air-Theme-Final-133440457

meanwhile changed the uifile, that the shellstyle draws the textcolor from msstyle, but thats another topic..
114  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 04, 2009, 07:29:45 am
The template IDs don't even match those listed there.

That means, the TemplateID's listed here are the wrong, but it still should work?

ok, i will post later when at home..
116  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: September 03, 2009, 08:20:17 am
it seems not to work with TemplateID's anymore.

i've tested the vista original ones, the new in shell32.dll/library

and these ones here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd378457(VS.85).aspx
(which are equal to the shell32.dll ones, but here are the libraryFolders listed, too)

i guess the syntax has changed from TemplateID to knownFolderID or something like this.
but unfortunately i have absolutely no experience with xml syntax,
maybe no Id'S are needed, just a Style-ID like "DocumentsPreviewPaneControl"

has anyone of you an idea how to get the Folderband part working with multishell?
117  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Help on finding some images? on: September 01, 2009, 03:03:58 pm
the small arrows in the folderband are in the explorer/CommandModule section
the small icon is in the shell32.dll or explorer.exe not in the msstyle.

the progressbar is in progressbars,

that's all i can say at the moment (no 7SB on this PC)

the folderband multishellstyle isn't solved yet. i don't know any 7-theme with multishellfolderband,
but i'm on the way to it, and i think i'm nearly at it.

sorry please, i don't wanna act as a wiseacre, but sometimes it helps to read the older topics in this forum or look into existing styles, to see how they made it there.

to answer your question:

the previewpane is ported already, the folderband not yet.
but it won't work with VSB only, you'll have to modify the shellstyle.dll, too.

Thanks alot Panda, i've tested it, but it changes only the previewpane, too..  Huh?

this far i am already, (panes, textcolors, and shinelayer are traced separately from the msstyle.)

but the folderband background (commandmodule) cannot be changed yet..

in vista uifiles, it's identified via Template-ID's and the question is, if it's possible here, and which ID's should taken.
(the vista-ID's don't work)

or if there is another solution ?

120  Help / Windows 7 / TemplateID's in 7 Shellstyle on: August 29, 2009, 08:58:25 pm
Hey Guys,

i'm trying to get the Folderbandbackground changing to concerning Foldertype (Documents,Music,Photo,Generic) as in vista.

has anyone of you an idea where to get the right ID's or if the ID's still work??
the ID's i used below, i've taken from Shell32.dll/Library.xml-Files but no success

here is my textpart of the shellstyle.dll/Uifile.txt:

</style>
<style resid="FolderBandStyle">
<Element
background="argb(0, 0, 0, 0)"
/>
<TemplateBackground background="themeable(dtb(GenericPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 2, 1), window)" />
<!-- when using only the line above it works, but with one background for all folders Sad ), when activating the following lines, the shell crashes: -->
<if TemplateID="{FDD39AD0-238F-46AF-ADB4-6C85480369C7}">
<TemplateBackground background="themeable(dtb(DocumentsPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 2, 1), window)" />
</if>
<if TemplateID="{4BD8D571-6D19-48D3-BE97-422220080E43}">
<TemplateBackground background="themeable(dtb(MusicPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 2, 1), window)" />
</if>
<if TemplateID="{33E28130-4E1E-4676-835A-98395C3BC3BB}">
<TemplateBackground background="themeable(dtb(PhotoPreviewPaneControl::Edit, 2, 1), window)" />
</if>
</if>

<!-- Original Text
<TemplateBackground background="themeable(Gradient(gtc(CommandModule, 2, 0, 3810), gtc(CommandModule, 2, 0, 3811), gtc(CommandModule, 2, 0, 3812), 3), window)" />
-->
<if id="atom(FolderBandShineLayer)">
<TemplateBackground
background="dtb(CommandModule, 1, 0)" ...and so on...
