42  Help / Windows 10 / Re: Ten on: October 01, 2014, 08:59:22 pm
ONE seems to work then break when I log off or restart.  Had snapshots on my VMware to revert but I think it may be the culprit.

43  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Glyph Image Scale on: September 16, 2014, 10:52:14 pm
Yeah no worries mate, open the shellstyle.dll with Restorator to remove or modify any of the extra UI files included.

Thanks so much for sharing!
44  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Glyph Image Scale on: September 16, 2014, 04:17:57 pm
Very cool, thanks mate!  Would it be too much to ask for the custom shellstyle and possibly a stylehack to go with it?  I have an idea for something.  Cheesy
45  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Glyph Image Scale on: September 16, 2014, 08:39:15 am
How would you go about adding it to the main explorer window?
46  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Idea for an app that applies Windows 8.1 themes properly! on: August 21, 2014, 03:55:59 am

It would be cool if we could use the same engine that WSB uses to apply themes in Windows 8.1
Right now personalize doesn't cut it.  Without a registry hack a lot of the fonts and Desktop WindowMetrics don't apply.

Not sure how hard it would be to implement but it would be a great idea I think.

I could help design with the GUI to select the themes but I'm no programmer so my resources are limited.
I beg someone to make this a reality.  Smiley

I'm open to certain feature options as well.
47  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Jumplist bug again! on: July 29, 2014, 01:06:59 am
I disabled it to test your theme.

Well that makes sense. Cheesy

Can't wait to see the next version.  You're doing awesome work.
48  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Jumplist bug again! on: July 29, 2014, 01:03:21 am
It's like that intentionally so you can theme the start menu in SIB. The only one I use is SIB. In the next update to WSB I'll be adding proper support for manipulating the JumpList for SIB users and 8.1 stock users.

Awesome mate that's great news.  How is it that the jumplist worked for you then if you are using SIB as well?
49  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Jumplist bug again! on: July 29, 2014, 12:47:17 am
StartIsBack modifies how the themes work to be compatible with 8.0 themes which has the original StartPanelPriv class layout like it was in 7. I would suggest switching OS Modes in WSB but having just tested it, that switch doesn't seem to work anymore.

Thanks I guess it is time do dump Startisback until they update it.  Do you use any alternatives?  I might go back to Start8 since I have a legit copy of that as well.

Yep just confirmed Startisback is the culprit.  Installed Start8 and alls fine now.  Thanks for your help guys!
50  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Jumplist bug again! on: July 29, 2014, 12:38:53 am
I just found that bug too!  I deleted the shellstyle.dll and used the regular Aero and it works fine now.
51  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Jumplist bug again! on: July 29, 2014, 12:20:19 am
It's weird I just uninstalled startisback and the jumplist works normally.  When I re-install it the bug is there again.  I'm using a legit version of the the program. Version 1.6.2
52  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Jumplist bug again! on: July 29, 2014, 12:10:51 am
Hey guys thanks for checking it out.  That's so weird.  This is what I'm getting.

53  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Jumplist bug again! on: July 28, 2014, 08:00:45 pm
Hey 3am, do you think you could work your magic again?  Ever since the latest beta I've been unable to fix the jumplist bug for some reason.  I've tried all the tutorials you've provided but still the same result.  Are you using the latest beta as well?  Also how were you able to fix my last vs? Angry  Thanks a lot for your efforts mate.

Here is the latest VS I'm having problems with if you are interested in looking at it.

Damn, that's too bad.  I have no problem saving it but maybe I should try again.  That sucks. Sad
56  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Problem with jumplist fix Windows 8.1 on: July 16, 2014, 03:21:44 pm
Hey folks, for the life of me I cannot get the jumplist fixed on my latest theme.  I've done it dozens of times before, but it has been awhile so
maybe I'm missing something but can't seem to figure it out.

If anyone wants to have a go at it and look it over I'd be really appreciative.

60  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Window title background - 8.1 preview on: January 07, 2014, 10:19:18 pm
Thanks 3am.  I only had to use the registry hack on the system that didn't have WSB installed on it for some reason.
61  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Window title background - 8.1 preview on: January 05, 2014, 04:33:19 am
I found a hack.  It ain't pretty, I'm no coder by any means. Cheesy

Just a reg file to make your Windows text blank, 1
And a default to return the text to normal.

You'll have to log off and on again to notice the changes.

Thanks Panda, I'm guessing a .reg hack might do the trick?
63  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Window title background - 8.1 preview on: January 05, 2014, 12:03:16 am
Thanks for taking the time to test it 3am.  Much appreciated.  I forgot to mention I hadn't had WSB installed on my main machine.  I thought for the hell
of it I would install it and test a theme and now it and another theme I had the same problem with work with the blank font fix...wierd.
So unless you have WSB installed the blank font trick does't seem to work for some reason.
I'm glad it fixed it but the general public who use my theme won't get the benefits of the blank font fix.  I'll try doing some more testing to see if I'm right or not.

btw it's neiio over at dA, not that it makes a difference. :-D
64  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Window title background - 8.1 preview on: January 04, 2014, 11:27:03 pm
I know this is old but I'm working on some Windows 8.1 themes and I have a VM setup for themeing since it's pretty buggy right now.
Anyhow, on my VM when I use the blank font trick it works perfect, however on my everyday machine it still displays the text.  It's really bugging me. :-D

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.  The exact same blank font is installed on both machines.

Here's the theme for 8.1

Any thoughts or help would be awesome.

66  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Temp folder on: May 18, 2013, 12:27:38 am
After working on a theme and testing for longer than I should have without saving it WSB crashed.  The thing about it is there is no file saved in Windows Temp folder.  I'm using the beta build, is there another location the temporary file may have been saved?
67  Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Start Menu Fonts (Start8) on: December 06, 2012, 05:06:14 pm
Sorry, is there a way to change the start menu fonts.  No matter what I do, or font attribute I add it doesn't seem to change anything?

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words, with skinning each new OS there's always hurdles and a learning curve which has turned off some of the great skinners it seems.  I just keep trudging along and try to improve as I go, and hopefully some people get some use out of it along the way. Smiley
Regarding the StartMenu size, even though I rarely release opensource visual styles they are always open to people to dissect and use the techniques for implementing into their own work.  I look forward to your release.  Btw what is your dA account?  I likely already know it but can't think of it off hand.

So much of my 'technique' is trial and error with a tonne of the "Test" feature. (I swear I've worn the button out)
If you could narrow it down to a specific part I'll try my best to help.

Sorry mate, it might be a system controlled color.  It is black on peek vs as well isn't it?  That's why I never do completely black themes just for that lack of functionality.

Thanks mate, not sure if this is the spot you are referring to.
Styles/ControlPanelStyle/ContentLink/Hot
or
Styles/ControlPanelStyle/TaskLink/Hot.
Hope this helps.  If not post me a screenshot of exactly what you mean.
