I think you can't edit that power button since it depends on Microsoft choice to use some system icons from segoe MDL2 font which is a system font...
If you look carefully on SIB icons set you can see some of them used

If you need it some day my friend I found how to fix that in dark mode

I increased content margins ( the 2 last values ) in basic>adressband>background for the image you are using.
It reduced height of adressbar when clicked and also width of the dropdown button ( curiously )

As you see , there is 2 zones in adressband I'm looking for the dark grey one ( set native dark mode )

This is weird , I 'm not able to find again where to edit color or image background when we CLICK in adressband field to change color compared when not used lol

Made few more try with width set to 0 but doesn't change compare to 1 pixel , the same but worth the mod reducing size to 1 .

However I have an important question about directUI and ui2bt:

your converted files are not the same size when I tried on my own ( mines are smaller size ) , using uib2t 1.03 and under windows build 19041 x64
Followed your steps ( exported as raw files then use uib2t

Is there something I missed or doing wrong ??
I ask because I was thinking if I tried myself with my converted files maybe I wouldn't have the same result when importing

I told you I'm not skilled with this UI lol

Well nice find again , despite I'm not mastering as you ui2bin mostly when having to import edited data back in the UI sections lol

That said it surely match for 31222 & 31224 with sizes but I tried mess with 31223.png and whatever I do with is blanking the performance window tab .

3am my friend you are invaluable ..  

I was close to give up for that and made another try with your bet .
So 31222 is the upper part I colored blue and 31224 is the bottom part colored dark grey for testings.
I now have to find the middle part .
I surely screw at first when applying a transparent background or so . Plain color seem safe to not vanish this window.
That said , sounds crazy to use 3 parts for such single location lol

I'm considering when having time to mess with 31223 png . It's white and 8 x 1 pixels , maybe this is the one taskmanager uses and stretch as resizer .

EDIt: it's not fully white , it has the firt pixel light grey from left

well my advice for the moment is to leave as..


Had a blank  window with performance tab by changing for black 31220 & 31223 png .
No patient enough  now to isolate the culprit :/
But surely this seem to be the file to play with ( unless some direct UI to find may be more secure )

I already tried it with others in section but maybe get a new try otherwise it looks very close yes .

Native ones ( when check shadows under windows in system/ advanced settings / performance ) are very thin , and I'm looking for how to increase them . I tried with menus borders but no way and unlikely windows caption titlebar shadows for context menus

I finally found those if you may be interested for SOME third party apps ( like winaero etc ) :

- rectangle selection is : Fonts, Colors, & System Metrics > Fonts & System Metrics > Hightlight ( this may color some popup check marks too !  )

- Toolbar menu color is : Fonts, Colors, & System Metrics > Fonts & System Metrics > BTNFACE

Notices this one also draws a popup gutter the same color

Another interesting thing is the popup background remains black

Tried rebar and some toolbar locations in WSB but can't find those 2 locations on screen and also the menu toolbar COLOR for some third party context menus different from immersive or desktop .

Here are steps I followed in order:

- export with restorator 40960 UI to raw file to use with ui2b2t ( as you specified in topic link )

- modified some parts in 40960uib2t.txt

- copy the content to replace the whole ocntent of existing 40960 UI part in explorerframe.dll.mun

I managed to edit some UI files from raw format but when I add modded resource ( as readable duixml as screenshot ) , it doesn't seem to work.



If I'm right, you don't have to convert back modded content to raw format ?

As I said to 3am there was the place to edit in vsb . I made other test to be sure and it works fine on my comp .

For large start button I only had to change the same place I talked before. and refresh your explorer.exe when testing

Now I don't see how I could be clearer as I used your white pic for the same result on large icon. ....

You can also try with already made themes ( ie Mr Grim HUD evolution etc )

on my rigs ( builds 1903 & 1909 )  , custom start button I can make it work like that:



with big size taskbar icons , I tested some and I only have to set the new pic here for your issue ( without edit other dpi )

TaskbarPearl > <2>Minimal dpi :96 ( true size/ vertical layout / imageselectype: dpi / bool transparent checked)

You may have to restart explorer.exe to see change

Thanks , main tabs place was empty compared to sub sections so theme was skinning fine for tabs at some places but not all of them

I have no pb finding usual tabs ( property window etc ) but I'm stuck on these ones :/ when a window has tabs near center not top or left  or right position .

I have 2 problems :

1) First is How to modify values on 40960 UI file from Explorerframe.dll as it dysplays in binary values not as other like shell32 UI files using resource hacker. I tried several Hex editor without easy readibility ?



2) I searched a lot to find where is the close cross glyph ? It creates an overlay with captions buttons of some custom themes but ONLY with the clipboard app of windows 10 . Every other windows  doesn't seem to be affected .

First I thought it was a browser ( chrome ) issue but when switching some dark custom themes to default one , I realized the issue comes from them .

Looking for styles to find where Chrome uses background for some buttons ( login , yes or preview ones which dysplays as black squares like on WSB home page )
