7  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Win7 Taskbar Size on: December 01, 2009, 12:46:00 am
Don't believe you can... the second taskbar is totally Ultramon dependent and emulates a taskbar, maybe ask on their forums?

btw... curious, is that a tango port by vertigosity? How did you get it working for W7? and how did you get the small taskbar... never been able to figure that out.
8  Tips and Visual Styles / Visual Styles / Re: modified:clsSharp (ClearScreen) on: December 01, 2009, 12:40:25 am
Thanks for a great theme. I made small changes, the average user may not notice. Squared off most the images, created a new scrollbar and gutter to match the theme, and removed the blue highlights over menus... Fixed a bug (white text shadow) I found on the explorer toolbar. Also, added a few images from a vista theme I created a year ago, wish I had the time to port that over to W7.

However, ClsSharp uses less desk space and seems to use a lot less system resources. Thanks again Smiley

I receive the same error. As Panda X stated, importing vista styles to 7 does not work atm.
14  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Re: ZIP (no installer) on: November 30, 2009, 01:29:35 pm
Sure it would. I previously noted installing it on an XP machine, then compressed it to a ZIP. Extracted it to Windows 7 and it works flawlessly on the remote drive. Doing the EXACT same method of compressing/copying on Windows 7 did not work.  In my case "copying" the files from the packagers default installed directory to a "remote" directory, then uninstalling (or NOT) and placing the licenseinfo in AppData... does not work (as displayed in the video).  Sure I could install it with your packager to a different directory, but that's besides the point i'm trying to make clear; some people just don't want it localized or registered in the registry (yes, it does register in the registry for add/remove programs and program groups). Perhaps, I'm too use to how *nix systems work, and packagers in Windows (variably to most systems) are commonly there for LARGE applications and complex installs, as a convenience, and for those who do not know their way around a system.

I'm just saying providing alternate sources to download the app would be nice. So, whether this is a bug with the Packager, WindowsStyleBuilder, or how Windows7 (it's quite possible) copies files; I don't know.
15  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Text highlighting / Colors on: November 30, 2009, 12:54:43 pm
Thanks. I had to get colorpic out and verify it was the same... I guess the height and the text made it look darker.
16  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Re: ZIP (no installer) on: November 30, 2009, 10:49:41 am
The installer is a self-extracting zip. Makes no difference. Like I said I have mine in a different directory and it works fine.

If it were a "self-extracting zip", which it is not, it is "PACKAGED!" I should be able to open it with WinRAR or 7zip (any compression agent really), view the contents and extract it. Yes, IT DOES make a difference!  Missing the point anyway. You seem just to be heckling me around and not providing support.

I go out of my way, create a video to display exactly what I'm experiencing and you arrogantly tell me its working fine on your end. Then tell me mr arrogant, why it's NOT working here?
17  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Menu_PopUpItemImage (bug?) on: November 30, 2009, 10:42:37 am
No you didn't import right. I watched the video.

really starting to annoy me. then tell me why every image i created and imported works fine, BUT this. I've been polite with you so far and PM'd you and you can't seem to elaborate to what is going on, but sit there and tell me I didn't import it right. The video CLEARLY displays what you requested me to attempt, and several methods of exporting and importing.
18  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Menu_PopUpItemImage (bug?) on: November 30, 2009, 12:45:41 am
PM'd... something is corrupted then, perhaps its my installation of Windows7.  I haven't tried it on my XP box, i'll give that a shot.

20  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Menu_PopUpItemImage (bug?) on: November 29, 2009, 10:16:23 am
I'm not exporting any images from VSB to modify them. I always use Resource Tuner to do that and never had problems with any image BUT the PopUpItem (Menu_PopUpItemImage).

Created another video.. displays exactly what you told me, also the ORIGINAL PopUpItem

21  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Re: ZIP (no installer) on: November 29, 2009, 09:17:21 am
Whats wrong in the video? You can see the mouse clicks and nothing happens. Also, notice that all files are in a directory, located on one of my 5 drives.. the license key is also in %APPDATA%, as well as the root folder where I launched the copied version of VistaStyleBuilder. The other executable is a 'shortcut' to the working directory on C:\.  The point I'm making is that it doesn't work. The remote "copied" version executes, but you can not select anything from the tree or view the information ( i ). The installer also installs the application in Program Files (x86) by default, however, you're given the option to choose which directory. Thats not the point, I prefer Windows not to see the installation and place it in the uninstall directory and would be nice to see an exe and a zip distribution; rather just an exe.

Either way, I installed it on an XP machine, copied the contents Program Files\VistaStyleBuilder to my remote drive on Windows 7 and it works fine. Something is obviously wrong with the way W7 and the installer handles things.
22  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Menu_PopUpItemImage (bug?) on: November 28, 2009, 10:33:04 am
It's because it's been double alpha fixed. Causing it to look dark.

Please explain how its double alpha fixed?

Still does not work.
26  Help / Windows 7 / Menu_PopUpItemImage (bug?) on: November 28, 2009, 04:48:58 am
May have located a bug. Interesting really, if I replace PopUpItem image with my modified file, only modifications made to it were adding edges, colors are the same. The file displays a gray hue. If I replace the file with resource tuner it displays as it should, but messes up the alignment and corrupts the image, displaying the "white" background. If I replace that same file with the original file from Aero 980 it displays fine, same colors, no modifications.

Original 980 (Menu_PopUpItemImage)

replaced file with WSB, displays as:

replaced file with resource tuner, displays as:

28  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Desktop Context menu on: November 25, 2009, 06:34:31 am
I've tried all of that.  Everything works as it should; hover, vertical band, borders, background, but the "white" space appears in the context menu.  I even took the original msstyle, which works with no problems, replaced the images from that into the modified file, the modified file persists to display the whitespace

29  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Desktop Context menu on: November 24, 2009, 08:22:35 pm
been searching that and all of them seem fine. need to know which image is for the "white" out areas, the spacer and gutter images are there and that should be whats showing... this white space, i just can't locate it or what i did wrong.

32  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Login user image (tile) on: November 22, 2009, 07:00:29 am
I changed all the tile images in authui.dll , however , the tile still displays a 2D version of it, not beveled as it use to. Also set the secpol.msc to Enable the display of last logged on user. That did not work.  Sad to say, I'm not as dedicated to this stuff anymore.

authui.dll modified tiles

secpol enforced  /  authui.dll modified tiles

It would be nice if someone would pick up on it... hopefully someone will and have the same idea that the old classic logon was a bit more professional and original.

33  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Login user image (tile) on: November 21, 2009, 06:23:02 pm
Got it.  Curious what image file (number) is for the cursor at boot.
34  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Login user image (tile) on: November 21, 2009, 07:11:19 am
What are you using to modify and SAVE the files?  I can edit them with Resource tuner, however, will not save it as it errors out and states it's packed. Replacer will not replace the file... just faults to a generic error.
35  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Re: ZIP (no installer) on: November 21, 2009, 07:08:21 am
Ok. I'm stuck, because I'm unable to select anything from the tree after I copy the files over.  I can open files, right click on the tree and 'go to path' displays, but no access to any of the tree items.. also the 'information' dialog does not appear, which normally does even if nothing in the tree is selected.

36  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Login user image (tile) on: November 21, 2009, 05:38:24 am
Located the tile, however, the cursor (spinning orb) is not there.  Also, the file seems to be packed and unable to replace it with the usaual replacer (http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/).
37  Help / Windows 7 / Login user image (tile) on: November 20, 2009, 09:24:17 am
Is it possible to remove the 'Tile' at login?  If so, how.  I would like an answer outside of VistaStyleBuilder, if that's possible. I know microsoft completely removed the classic login screen Sad

Also, remove the Orb (hour glass) upon boot - logon.

The 'Tile' is above username/password

38  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / ZIP (no installer) on: November 20, 2009, 02:15:49 am
Is it possible to provide a ZIP, extraction only, version rather than an installer?

I seem to be having problems with the copy I installed after copying the files over to my application/backup drive. What I usually do... is install an application on my system and if it can run without it being "installed" into the system registry I copy the application data over to my application/backup drive. This helps for when I need to restore my system image at any given point of time; without having to install any applications.

In the case with StyleBuilder, it will run, can open files, etc..  however, i'm unable to open and select any tree
39  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Vista Raw (Requesting Port to Windows 7) on: November 20, 2009, 01:57:06 am
Just curious if anyone is willing to convert the Vista "corner" style over to Windows 7. If someone is currently working on one... great Cheesy   Love to see the end result, please keep it original and basic Smiley
40  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Vista Raw (Requesting Port to Windows 7) on: November 07, 2009, 03:59:39 am
Just uploaded the Windows 7 msstyle i was working with.

As for porting, the only thing that needs to be replaced is the stream (may need to be fixed) file and the modified images (may need to be fixed) for square corners. I think i goofed on the taskbar buttons, but the only modifications i made there were trimming the round corners to corners, nothing else is touched. Basically, it's Aero without ROUND edges... all the TM features are default (ie, ORB)  i'm sure you fellas get the point.
