This should be useful for script makers, give the user a custom dialog for input to allow certain conditions to be met. For example the user could select between rounded or squared images, or between red and blue text colors, etc.

Sorry this is coming a bit late, been busy with work and other things: As you can see it's hooked up reading the XML, I just need to add the function to add/remove/copy properly which will be based on the Add Property dialog which won't take too much effort. The 8.0 to 8.1 and 8.1 to 8.1.1 conversion will use StyleScripts and once it's finished a new build will be out.

I think it's a good idea but maybe as a future update, i would rather see the current feature set complete, the sooner you can release a RTM build of 1.6 the sooner you guys can start developing 1.7 and make money again as current support only extends to 1.6
Well it would make 8.0 to 8.1 and 8.1 to 8.1.1 porting much easier.

Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: What's wrong with my theme?

Generally when that happens (the black screen) DWM is crashing and WinLogon gets hung in an infinite loop trying to restart it. If you want to try to avoid it at all costs you can try suspending winlogon with pssuspend , if DWM crashes you can go back to another theme and restart DWM manually. Note that Explorer needs DWM in order to run as well so it may get difficult.

Even though these days I don't have much time available to work on WSB, I like to spend times on the weekends to add some things or update it here and there. One thing right now I have as a concept is called StyleScripts. Which essentially is the same thing as a StyleHack but easier to manage. This is just a rough idea of how it would look: I was wondering if you themers would want this feature or not. In my opinion it would be useful and more flexible than StyleHacks.

Oh, well I went back and tested it earlier and apparently the Delete key doesn't remove properties in that version. Also it apparently doesn't in 1559 either, though it had done so in previous beta versions.

You can also ctrl+click to select multiple properties that aren't next to each other. The delete key should also remove them when they're selected.

Other / Other / Re: Latest version WSB not working with themes from previous version

I spoke too soon. I'm really tearing my hair out here. Each version has its own problems, but they both sort of stop working after a while and need to be restarted, and sometimes I completely need to reboot.
The same theme displays somewhat differently in each different version. In the newer version, although I have edited certain items, they just do not display as edited. I think the newer version is a bit more stable and I'd like to continue using it, but it simply won't let me edit certain things. Or, what I mean is, I edit them, but they do not change when I test the theme. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
Also, the new one does not remember where to save to or open from from one reboot to the next.
Thanks, Ellen
Edit: Fortunately, I am seeing that when I try the theme in Windows\Resources\Themes as a theme, all the edits do show, but it is utterly maddening to work this way.
The theme compiles the same in 1.5.0.3 and 1.5.5.9 as the backend hasn't changed at all. So there's no reason why one should have different results from the other. What are you trying to edit exactly?

I don't think the FONT property accepts logical fonts like MS Shell Dlg or MS Shell Dlg 2, I could be wrong though. You can try just replacing Segoe UI in the string table with MS Shell Dlg by doing what 3am said in the post above me.

I would recommend keeping the old one for whatever reason just in case you need it.

In the latest beta have the ribbon open and click File > Open > Import 7 Theme Save then open it again (bug) Most cases this should work but isn't 100%, so if it doesn't post here and I'll look into it.

Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Windows 8.1 Frame Window Bottom and Top Border Colors?
|
on: December 22, 2013, 10:19:44 pm

1) Uncheck "Show Shadows Under Windows" at Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System \Advanced System Settings
2) Use Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Shadowless Window > Normal > Bottom & Top images
That will get rid of those shadows
I changed your Shadowless frame images in the attached msstyles
Disabling shadows isn't the solution. The shadow image never shows on the frame, only outside of it. For example, here's a shot with shadows enabled: Also own, the ATLASRECT property is that particular image's coordinates on the stream (also called the atlas) image, as all images in the DWMWindow class are technically just one large image. Changing it will only change the where on the atlas its looking for the image.
