Here is that Icon
you have to use Restorator 2007 or something like that to use it as VSB doesn't allow you to change its shortcut Icon
drag the exe file from your programs folder to your desktop
change the icon and save it than copy it back to the programs folder and replace the old exe and the new icon will show

Ok so I am making my new theme but I have a problem as I am making the taskitembutton with a rounded look but when I hover over a icon the glow for that icon doesn't match the shape anyway to fix this or get rid of that glow part

Well can't really edit the explorer.exe with a png cause it won't take it in Restorator 2007 so it has to be in bmp

plus this is for Windows 7

Ok so i am trying to make a different image for the start menu in taskbar
But everytime I make it in photoshop than convert it to bmp I get a white background around the images instead of a black background


What am I doing wrong

what program or programs should I be using to make a new image there and what should I use to convert it to bmp

Do you have an idea what that app will cost

I think it should be part of VSB but that is my thoughts
you do what is best for you and what you think is right

how do I change the color of the text in the address bar so it is not black

meaning I use a image that i was using before and it worked fine but the new image I want to use doesn't work but why does the other custom image work fine

I redid the image so it has white in the middle and it works must be something in the way it windows handles transparent images

why is it that when I use a totally different image it works
but the image i want to use will not work

ok so I have the image and it looks fine but when I do something in start menu it goes away and I have to reload the theme to get it back

how do i move the detail panel to the top

i messed with shell32 but that didn't do it so what file do I have to edit to get it to the top

I was wondering what is going on with VSB is there a update coming to fix some errors going on with the app in windows 7 or is it at a stand still

I have seen this all over the place as I am making my theme
if I set the margin number to high or two low it is like the image that I am trying to use doesn't even exist

explain how this margin works

there are 4 numbers
lets say
4,4,4,4

If it is like css and making websites than it would go top,right,bottom,left

or am i wrong about that

I talked to Panda X and there is a bug with this

I am running Windows7 x64 by the way
When I run "BcMapFixer.exe" and I pick a msstyle file it gives this error
"Could Not Read Aero.msstyle BCMAP"
I have no idea what that error means

While I am editing my theme i go to test it and than i go to save it and it will not save
i go to close the app it ask me to save and it won't

but if I don't test my theme it will save

and after I run a test on my theme I can't do anything else it is like after testing nothing on the app works again

Ok so I just bought Vista Style builder (great program by the way)
I want to start making themes for windows 7
But I am new to making themes and this looks like the best program to learn how to do this
Is there a guide to doing this maddness like do I have to edit the aero.msstyles.mui file and what app do I use to do
do I have to edit shellstyle.dll.mui or the shellstyle.dll to get what I want
Cause when I make a Win7 theme i just get a msstyle file but i know win7 needs a .theme file too

so any tips to get me start would be awesome

and add anything you think i need to know to get this going for me cause I have always wanted to make VS for Windows
