1  Help / Windows 7 / Re: toolbar blue change, please help on: February 20, 2010, 12:58:26 am
I'm not sure but you might want to take a look at
Lists, Menus & Tabs > Menu > BarBackground
2  Tips and Visual Styles / StyleHacks / Re: Remove black line style hack on: February 20, 2010, 12:56:13 am
Anyone know how this can be achieved without the stylehack? Cause the download is broken.
3  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TaskItemButton Sizing. on: February 17, 2010, 05:59:22 pm
Well what you need to do is save a 32 bit bmp with a alpha channel and through it into a alpha converter and then click shift+import

Results in plain white buttons..
4  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TaskItemButton Sizing. on: February 17, 2010, 05:31:11 pm
WSB doesn't import images with gradients properly.

Yeah I noticed somehow... lol
But that never happened before so I don't know. I'll try using Restorator to change the image then.

EDIT: Didn't work even with Restorator. The gradient still appears opaque.

Already knew this but might be useful for beginners, thanks Wink
6  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TaskItemButton Sizing. on: February 14, 2010, 11:18:51 pm
Can I take a look your theme file?

Sorry but I'd rather keep it private for the moment. Tell me what you want to know about the theme and I'll give you the info..
7  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TaskItemButton Sizing. on: February 14, 2010, 05:57:22 pm
I think
Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TaskItemButton   BGTYPE:ENUM IMAGEFILE

It's already set to imagefile
8  Help / Windows Vista / Re: Problem with transparent png: color value get messed up... bug? on: February 14, 2010, 01:59:18 pm
Same problem here...

9  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TaskItemButton Sizing. on: February 14, 2010, 01:43:10 pm
Did you try to "shift-import" your image ?

Good point, thanks. That -kind of- worked, the gradient is displaying properly now but it is opaque even though I have Transparent:bool checked..

Any ideas?
10  Help / Windows 7 / Re: TaskItemButton Sizing. on: February 13, 2010, 10:43:00 pm
An idea would be mess with the sizing margins, and if that didn't work just make the taskbar buttons smaller.  7 is just sizing them smaller in the wrong way.

It didn't work, and I kinda guessed it in advance since the problem occurs with small icons too. Thanks for trying though ..
11  Help / Windows 7 / TaskItemButton Sizing. on: February 13, 2010, 09:19:08 pm
Hey,
I have a problem with the sizing of the Taskband item buttons.
My original PNG has a gradient that doesn't display right when I apply the theme, so I tried changing the sizing margins to the path "Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TaskItemButton" where the image is located but it didn't work.
Image:

How can I fix this?
Thanks!

Can we put a "Not Verified" message on users after a week or so who haven't, so we can see who is and who isn't legit.  Wink

I am legit and I haven't been here for a long while. So I guess your idea would make a lot of innocent people look bad too.
13  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Visual style images. Double border? on: December 20, 2009, 02:14:10 am
Oh yeah something similar happens when you choose to change the window's border size. When you make them the smallest, if you want a straight 1 px line visible you need to draw a 2 px line in the image itself. Kinda weird.
14  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Visual style images. Double border? on: December 19, 2009, 05:46:05 pm
I'm not sure I really understood what your problem is but if your images are distorded it's probably a sizing margins problem.
15  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Crashes and stylehack bug. on: December 16, 2009, 10:17:11 pm
The program crashes a lot, specially when I save. It's really getting annoying.
And there's a bug with the stylehacks, I made large shadows on one of my visual styles, imported them in a stylehack to apply them easily on my other themes.
I applied that stylehack to my latest visual style, I clicked Import Images but it bugged and now there's no image at all: and the size viewer on the top left says 0 x 0 px. I tried putting the image manually but it makes the prog crash.
16  Help / Windows Vista / Re: Window borders... on: December 15, 2009, 04:52:54 am
Go there: Fonts, Colors & System Metrics > Fonts & System Metrics
And change the value of the property PADDEDBORDERWIDTH:SIZE
It should be 4 by default. Make ita higher number and your borders will be larger. It works to make them thinner too.

I lol'd.
18  Other / Other / Introducing today a brand new OS on: December 14, 2009, 01:48:17 am
This picture will talk more than any word I could write here.

Including 3 start orbs and a brand new feature to the browsing interface; you actually have to guess what window will come up when you click on the taskbar.

Damn, I wish bill gates could see this.

PS: This is a joke.
PS2: This is a real theme.
19  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Editing User Pic in Win 7 on: December 11, 2009, 03:40:47 pm
Photoshop definately CAN handle 32 bit bmps, but you need to go to the Channels panel and create an alpha layer.
It works that way.
20  Tips and Visual Styles / Tips and Tricks / Re: How to get rid of taskbar over msstyle Windows 7. on: December 05, 2009, 08:41:10 pm

22  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Caption background help on: December 03, 2009, 02:12:13 pm
On vista its located here: Windows and Caption Buttons > Aero > Dwm Window > Glows > Text
Should be the same or similar to that on 7.
23  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Some questions about theming. on: December 01, 2009, 01:17:33 am
Sorry if I sound like a bitch now but I don't think I ever allowed you to use parts of my theme.
Please respect my work and the time I spent making my visual style and at least ask for permission to mod / take parts of it.
24  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Menubar height on: November 29, 2009, 02:44:32 am
Try changing the two last values of the content margins maybe.
Not sure if it'll work, but it should.
25  Other / Other / Re: Hacking away on the captionbuttons... on: November 03, 2009, 03:04:25 am
This is f****** awesome. :D
26  Other / Other / Re: The future of replacing resources... on: November 02, 2009, 12:43:37 am
It looks interesting.  Are you planning on releasing more details?

Maybe you can update AveStyler to support this type of replacement. Wink
Right now, AveStyler can only load themes -- which is great!  But now on Windows 7, Start Button is in Explorer.exe...

So for instance, have "Resources" folder inside of C:\Windows\Theme\Squaero

Example:

I have 'explorer.exe' in C:\Windows\Theme\Squaero\Resources
AveStyler reads "Resources" folder and sees 'explorer.exe', 'shell32.dll', 'explorerframe.dll'.

AveStyler then applies the explorer, shell32, and explorerframe .dll's without touching system files.

That's a great idea. Not sure if it's possible but I sure hope it is.

28  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Ignoring properties? on: October 31, 2009, 04:05:43 pm
Well the right frame works perfectly, but not the left... Huh?
29  Help / Windows 7 / Ignoring properties? on: October 31, 2009, 04:42:23 am
Uhh that's a pretty weird problem.. For some reason my left DMW frame ignores the sizingmargins I set... while the right one works fine.
That's annoying..
30  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Separating lines [Content view] on: October 27, 2009, 10:31:55 pm
Well I noticed that it passes UNDER the ListView > ListItem > Hot image (see below), so I thought that if I'd fill Listview > ListItem > Normal with my bg's color, it would go over it. I had to add an image to the normal state but it didn't give any result :/ I never added an image before so maybe I didn't do it right ..

31  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Separating lines [Content view] on: October 27, 2009, 10:00:34 pm
Not a fillcolor nor a textcolor, I checked.
I tried some themes around and they all seem to have the same problem.. Huh?
32  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Separating lines [Content view] on: October 27, 2009, 07:33:20 pm
Found nothing in the shellstyle either Sad
33  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Separating lines [Content view] on: October 27, 2009, 07:22:24 pm
Argh x_X i hope its in the shellstyle then. I'll take a look.
34  Help / Windows 7 / Separating lines [Content view] on: October 27, 2009, 06:17:02 pm
When you set the view to Content view on windows 7, these lines are displayed between each item.
I'd like to know where to change them..

Also, the function where I was able to navigate with my arrow keys is gone. It makes navigation much slower and infuriating.

I have news, I succeded in porting this theme, but I had to open Aero.msstyles first and import the whole Startmenu tree to a stylehack, and apply it to the port.
Maybe the import option doesn't translate the startmenu properties correctly..

38  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Resize Close Button on: October 20, 2009, 01:41:58 pm
That's only possible with Basic, I think the Aero caption button's size is hardcoded.
39  Help / Windows Vista / Re: where is this on: October 14, 2009, 11:09:15 am
Toolbars, Headers and Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Normal > Active > Background
Toolbars, Headers and Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > Max > Active > Background
Toolbars, Headers and Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Basic > NonTopmost > Background
