I've had some of the same questions about the Folderband. I've been opening up restorator 07 every time I need to change the Folderband.
Ave, can you implement a more in-depth shellstyle editing?

So, the Win7 support works well? Man, this is a bad time for my Vista Laptop AC Adapter not working! I'm currently stuck on my Mum's laptop (Winxp) and she won't let me install Win7! Curses!
Also, does the XP Import work with Win7?

I really like Win7, but only for its functionality. It pains me to see another version of Aero, even if it's updated to be more useful. -- Has anyone tried the new VSB 1.3 Win7 support yet? I would like to see how it works.

The new VSB is great! A bunch of XP things were fixed, but it still doesn't import correctly: - Start Menu (some parts) - Progress Bars (some parts) - Scrollbars (should adjust to the original xp size) - Menus - Vista Basic Navbar Background - Radio Buttons - Folderband - Comboboxes (should be borderfill, the edit-boxes still look like vista's)
Otherwise, it's all good!

To remove the start menu text (ie: Internet; Email) drag them out of your start menu, then provide yourself links to them (ex: Drag them from 'All Programs List' into the main menu.
Either that, or just make the subtext the same color as the background. 'Start > StartMenu > Panels > Basic > NSCHost > CAPTIONTEXT:COLOR'

Help / Windows Vista / Re: Resizing Right Panel of StartMenu

I think I've got it --
Apply a Start Menu Width Stylehack. ( ie: StartPanel Right Pane Width - 140px )
Then go to -- In Aero: Start > StartMenu > Panels > Aero > Bottom > PlacesList > DEFAULTPANESIZE:RECT > "0, 0, width, height" -- In Basic: Start > StartMenu > Panels > Basic > PlacesList > DEFAULTPANESIZE:RECT > "0, 0, width, height"
And mod it from there.

In Aero: Start > StartMenu > Panels > Aero > Bottom > PlacesList > DEFAULTPANESIZE:RECT > "0, 0, width, height" In Basic: Start > StartMenu > Panels > Basic > PlacesList > DEFAULTPANESIZE:RECT > "0, 0, width, height"
Also, there are some style hacks that come with vsb that can change the width of both sides.

Help / Windows Vista / How modify the shellstyle.dll that goes with the Vs.
|
on: December 20, 2008, 12:16:12 am
|
Does anyone know how to modify the shellstyle.dll that the visual style uses? I'm not talking about the one in "%temp%\shell\NormalColor\shellstyle.dll" that only gets applied when your testing a vs.
I've modified UiFile\1.txt in shellstyle.dll, and it only gets applied when I'm testing. It's really an inconvenience.

Um... I think your not getting it, I want to make it permanent for this theme. In this picture, I'm not running vsb. Although the theme was made in vsb, therefore stripping it of its shellstyle.

Tips and Visual Styles / Tips and Tricks / [TIP] How to remove Log-Off buttons and Search Feature (start menu)
|
on: December 18, 2008, 10:57:41 pm
|
I found out how to remove the search feature in the start menu along with the log-off buttons.
--> Start > StartMenu > Panels > Basic > OpenBox > Content Margins --> Start > StartMenu > Panels > Basic > Logoff Make the bottom (the fourth number) Content Margin the same height as DEFAULTPANESIZE:RECT (the fourth number)
--
If a Mod or Ave could move this to 'Tips and Tricks', it would be appreciated by me, and whoever finds this useful.
--
Thanks Ave.
