Title: Error testing msstyle There was an error applying the Test MsStyles File Post by: markd89 on April 02, 2015, 11:39:12 pm I wasn't sure where to post this. I'm running under Windows 8.1, the current beta 1.563 and Uxstyle installed.
I'm working on a modified Aero theme and most of the time Test works just fine. Sometimes it gets the following error: "Error Testing MsStyles File There was an error applying the Test MsStyles File, this usually signals an error in the MsStyles file" when I get that error, the only solution I have found is a system restore. When I do the system restore, I can do the test fine so I know the msstyle file is OK. I have got in the habit of making frequent restore points, but it would be good to know the cause and a solution or workaround. Thanks much! 1) Apply default Windows theme 2) Stop and Restart Unsigned Themes Service in Task Manager 3) Try to test in WSB |
