Title: Build 10041
Post by: Mr GRiM on March 19, 2015, 12:26:54 pm
New Class: Unknown > TaskbarPearl > <2> Start button now back in msstyles but you can only use an image count of 1, hover and active states do not show images.

Just did a bit more testing and the part id 1 seems to be for the hover, it has an image count of 3 and if you put a start button image there and set the part id 2 to show no image then part id 1 will show hover and pushed states but not the normal state, part id 2 however will show the normal state but cancels out the same area in hover and pushed, MS really like to do things in a strange way

Yeah. I just took a quick look:

Blue is Unknown > TaskbarPearl > <1>
Red is Unknown > TaskbarPearl > <2>

Have to play with it more but I'm getting the same here :(

For what it's worth the new Unknown > TaskbarShowDesktop always shows the border but you can only change the hot background ( don't remember if the old one was like that):

Yellow is Unknown > TaskbarShowDesktop > <1>
Red is Unknown > TaskbarShowDesktop > <2> FILLCOLOR

One of those might be a mask. I believe in 8 there was the bitmap and then a mask over it for the color animation.

BTW, what to use to get rid of that white area? i installed Ribbon Disabler from Winaero, but not in all themes is that white area

Hi, try this: add a image or color in

Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Normal > Active > Background
Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Normal > Inactive > Background
Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Max > Active > Background
Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero > Max > Inactive > Background

Just wanted to note that the Taskband is seriously messed up in this build, aside from some parts that can not be modified now, most of the parts have been mixed up as well as new parts added, the Taskband extended UI is also very messed up and now instead of one complete shadow image it uses 4 separate shadow images like in the DWM shadow images, I really hope that this new style does not remain this way as it's going to severely effect Windows 10's ability to be skinned.

Also wanted to note that OldNewExplorer is working very well with this latest build, had to grab fresh UI files from the shell32.dll and explorerframe.dll and modify them again as the old ones no longer functioned properly, here some images of my theme with the new UI files.

Not sure if any of you want the updated modified UI files but here they are.

Also does anyone know if it's possible to modify the width of the new caption buttons, are they contained within any UI files, would also love to know if it's possible to revert the new task item by modifying any files.

Yeah I'm getting some wacky stuff like:

Pink is Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > Background > FILLCOLOR
Yellow is Windows 8 (For Testing Purposes Only) > Taskband Extended UI > BackgroundShadow
Blue is Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > CloseCaption
Red is Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > ScrollBar
Green is Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > <14>
Blue text is Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > ListItem > TEXTCOLOR
Red on the Close button is Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > CenterControl

Anybody know the location of the Close glyph?

This will hopefully be sorted in the future.

The Close glyph is not an image. But can change:

The color of Close glyph.- Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > CenterControl = COLOR/TEXTCOLOR (example A)

The size of Close button.- Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > CenterControl = SIZE/ WIDTH, HEIGTH (example B)

The size and shape of Close glyph.- Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > CenterControl = FONT/FONT (example C)

If you want to hide the close glyph select the "script" font with size 1 (example D)

I was able to make the show desktop button function similar to how it did on windows 7 using some magic on the taskbar image and adjusting the width of the show desktop button to 17. Only wish there was a way to get rid of the dark bg behind the clock and remove the white line between the clock/show desktop button.
