Title: Some modifications
Post by: gheepard on January 18, 2011, 06:05:00 pm
I wanna modify some background colors and lines.
Here are some images.
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9223/buttons.jpg
http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/1285/greyo.jpg
http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/6733/shadowhover.jpg
http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/6752/shadowsa.jpg
http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/7218/windowsexplorer.jpg
So, on the first image, i want to move the buttons a bit more to the right. Is that possible ?
On the second one, when i move the mouse over the icons on Control Panel, the background color is grey. can i change this ?
On the third : the same, in Start Menu, on the right side.
On the fourth : the same, over the partition icons.
And the last one : on the left side, the blue-grey background color. Is that possible to change this color ?
Thanks.

2) Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem > Hot, Selected etc
3) Start Menu > Panels > Basic > PlacesListHover
4) Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ListView > ListItem > Hot, Selected etc
5) Bitmaps 632 and 633 in Shell32.dll

Look at my maps in the Tutorials section if you need more locations ok?

I don't have this " 3) Start Menu > Panels > Basic > PlacesListHover "

Is it possible to reduce the size of this blue hover ? If "Yes" would that affect the same effect when moving the mouse, over partitions ?

Thank you.
Now i have a question about Windows 7 SP1.
I modified a lot of files from the OS, like imageres.dll, msstyles, shell32.dll, and so on.
After i install SP1, will that affect all  those modified files, including my msstyle ?
How do you advice me to proceed, just to make sure i can keep the msstyle like it is now ?
Thanks again.

SP0 files will be deleted and replaced with SP1 files. There's no effect on the msstyles.

Did someone here installed the SP1 ?
I installed and it works okay, i just tried a bit today, but when i change my msstyle from Snow Leopard 1 to Snow Leopard 2, i get the basic theme, and the only Aero theme i can change, is Windows 7 / Arhitectures / Characters / Landscapes ........
Do you have any ideas ?
I restarted my PC several times, tried to change back the Snow Leopard theme ( 1 or 2 ) but no way ....
Thanks in advance, any suggestions / ideas are welcome.

Just patch the files to enable custom themes, there are tools/guides all over  the net.I use Universal Theme Patcher but there are other  methods, choose the one that is best for you :)

UXStyle is the easiest. It's always up to date because it doesn't use hard patches but rather in-memory. Which means anytime the files are updated it'll still work and you won't have to wait for another patch to release.

Hello, i modified some time ago, some fonts, but i can't find the right location.
Would you tell me where they are, please ? I'm looking to change only the font colors of Local Disk C / D / E / on the left side.
Thanks.

Would you give me an idea, please, how to make the Start Menu ( left side ) look like this ? I dont care about those letters ( VIG YAAN and this blue wheel, or whatever it is ) :)
Do i have to add an image, or something like this ?
Thank you.

Edit the left side of the Programs List, More Programs and Open Box images for what you want.
