Title: Getting rid of "Open" command in folderband
Post by: BetaPix on July 21, 2010, 09:49:18 pm
Hi :) I would like to get rid of the "Open" or "Open with" or "Play" command in Windows Explorer's commandbar/folderband (or, at least, I'd like to get rid of the icon on the left), but I can't find anything, so I don't think that depends on VS... what should I do? Can you help me, please? I can't find nothing about that on the net :(

I'd like to answer but I don't understand what you want.

Do you want to get rid of the CommandModule buttons or just not see the text? Do you want no buttons or text or just some? What icon on the left?

If you just want to make the CommandModule text invisible then make the background colors of Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Command Module > 3 and the textcolors at Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Command Module > 3 > 1 and 2 the same color. Is that what you want?

Maybe a picture might help?

No. I'd like to get rid of the "Open" command in the folderband/commandbar/Explorer toolbar. Look: http://www.techlivez.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/windows7-explorer.png

That "Open" text on the toolbar and that icon, do you understand now? :)

Some where in the registry is where all the buttons are. I would assume.

Edit:

Actually they all are. Except for Open :S

I don't know if it's what you want exactly, but i succeeded to delete the icon (on the left) of this button by changing the "padding property" for "actionbuttonicon" in the shellstyle

try this shellstyle: http://www.mediafire.com/?64x6c4dfvji4rss

I changed the padding of "<if id="atom(ActionButtonIcon)" for "<style resid="TaskButtonStyle">" and "<style resid="CPLTaskButtonStyle">"

You can probably override the the view icon. You change the padding on the global AJOSplitButton and override it on the view button.

This gets rid of the Open icon and retains Preview and Change Your View icons:

Is that what you want?

no its the same like rajtheeban's

the open icons are only hidden for folders and libraries, not for files

;) and now we are back at the beginning, open icon hidden/view icon hidden
maybe its just not possible to show the view icon if the open icon is hidden  :S

have a nice and relaxing evening
-Chris

//Edit
but now I thought about it, and its actually a great idea if you could hide the preview pane and help icon.
Is it possible to hide them too?
