In the above image I'm looking to change the background color of the more programs area to match the normal start menu color. As well as where is the scroll bar located at to change it. Also the up and down arrow of the scroll bar?

what about the fonts on the right side? Those are bottons though, so do I have to edit the entire button or can I just change the font to a different color and style?

Where is the images for the area around the search field and the entire right side?

I have altered the start button, mostly because it was easy to find and I'm trying to figure this entire program out. I then save my file, then I double click on the myfile.msstyle file which opens the Appearance settings menu. I dont see my file listed as an option, nor do I see any type of changes when I click apply.
I have done a number of things to try and get the changes to take place but I'm having no luck. Where have I gone wrong?
