At least in 7 (pretty sure it is the same in vista): Start > StartMenu > Menus > Basic > Toolbar

Start > StartMenu > Panels > Aero > Top: composited:bool (not select it)
probably because when i delete this property, the glow effect (fir this arrow) disappears automatically

but it's strange, it seems not to work with others visual style

How did you change the background there ?

And do you know how to change background for the left panel of start menu to ged rid of awful white background ( even make it transparent ) for 7 ?  :)

Hi !

I use Vista, the pace might be the same: Start > StartMenu > Panels > Aero > Top > ProgramsList

to make it transparent, i don't know:  ka-la said me it is impossible for windows 7

i know there is a stylehack for that which works with vista i used, created by Panda X: http://stylehacks.deviantart.com/art/Composited-Programs-List-101699264

hope this wil help u / en espérant que ca t'aide !

Context Menu: like Spitzen said: StartMenu>Menus>Basic>ToolBar. Fillcolor:Color + Textcolor:Color.
Background of Programs List on left side: Explorer+Shell>Explorer>TreeView. Then Fillcolor:Color (I manually colored the image too).

The imagefile:filename image#872 property means that the image used is located in the msstyles under the name 872.
So if you open the msstyles with Restorator, the image 872 will be that one.

Sorry, I thought you meant the Program List after you click More Programs.
To do More Programs you just recolor the image in an image editor in aero + basic start menu>panels. You do the same for NSC Host, More Programs Tab, Open Box, Top Match and Search View images.
To color the Search Background you go to Address, Breadcrumbs>search>searchbox>basic>normal>active>1
to color Search Text go to Address,Breadcrumbs>Search>Edit>Basic and put in your TextColor
If you have images just recolor them (mspaint, paint.net, gimp....any image editor). Otherwise use Fillcolors and Textcolors.
Anyway you do all of this to get a totally recolored left side. Use the Explorer>Treeview to control the Program List after you click More programs Tab with a Fillcolor like I said and Tree List Item for textcolor. Now everything is done.
Don't forget that when you change Explorer Treeview all treeviews everywhere will be changed including VSB etc!
I know it sounds like a lot to do but it's easier than it sounds. I did it, and if I can do it anybody can do it.
