i guess, it'S not a graphic, but a font (i'm not sure)

i think so, because in earlier themes i changed the font in placeslistpane (which is the wrong place ;)) , and the arrow was changed into an 8

but i've no idea where it is located, maybe in explorer.exe?

Do you know where I can find the content margins for it so I can at least move it?

Indeed big problem  :S

I tried and it seems possible to move (or delete) it changing the contentmargins, like Sunbeam said in start menu properties, more precisely : Start > StartMenu > Panels > Aero > Top > PlacesList (i put for example: 3, 15, 0, 5)
and i get this result, the arrow doesn't appear in this case

Normal:

Moved to left :

to delete it, , try "-50" instead of "15"

Yes i also discovered accidentally it is possible to change completely the kind of this arrow (adding others symbols) modyfing the font localised in Start > StartMenu > Panels > Basic > PlacesList (add the font property if it doesn't exist )

some example, with others fonts: Wingdings, Webdings, Trendy, Marlet etc and others symbols:

You can also change the style and the size of these symbols
interesting !

I remember doing that but the problem is that nothing else looks really good.
And installing a custom font with 8 replaced with your graphic would be a waste of a font entry, imo.

What would be awesome is being able to insert a graphic there :)

I knew you could change it from there, what I didn't know is that you can change the glyph via font. Never really tried.

look at the password box details, it specifies a glyph...
